Seasonal production is distributed more towards the recommended lists chosen. With different varieties latter part of the growing season. being approved each year, our expert team meet annually to carefully select the varieties which will Gemini (Tetraploid) LG Seeds make up the mixtures. For 2021, we have chosen Gemini is an Italian ryegrass that has a very high first cut digestibility the following varieties – some of which are in value, while it is also rather high yielding, both in the first harvest year and the total mean yield. multiple mixtures and others just one. EARLY PERENNIAL RYEGRASS Genesis (Diploid) DLF Seeds Genesis is exceptionally high yielding under both managements with very early spring growth. It requires cutting early to achieve good quality silage. INTERMEDIATE PERENNIAL RYEGRASS AberClyde (Tetraploid) Germinal AberClyde is a very high yielding grass under both grazing and silage managements with notably good grazing quality and a very high two-cut digestible silage yield. AberGreen (Diploid) Germinal AberGreen has very high grazing yields and one of the highest two-cut digestible yields of all diploid perennial ryegrasses. It also boasts very good grazing quality. 10 11

It has excellent two-cut silage yields from swards of a typical erect type for an early Timothy. Erecta RED CLOVER LG Seeds Global Erecta has been a reliable variety for many years, with good yield Freudenberger performances regularly achieved in grazing production. Both silage and Global is a very healthy and protein-rich red clover. It produces high- grazing production peaks in the spring and again in the late summer quality staple feed in mixtures with grasses such as Italian ryegrass. It is period. also a robust variety and can therefore be cropped for two to three years. WHITE CLOVER Alice (Large Leaf) Barenbrug With its large leaves, Alice achieves a high clover content and has a high grazing persistency. It also produces high total sward and excellent clover yields, which are maintained at a high level throughout the growing season. Buddy (Medium Leaf) DLF Seeds Buddy is a medium leaved variety with a very good yield of both grass and clover in a mixture through much of the season, although strongest in early summer. It has strong persistence at low nitrogen levels. Crusader (Medium Leaf) Barenbrug On the borderline between the medium and the small leaved groups, Crusader has exceptionally high yields in relation to its leaf size. It has an extremely long growing season with superb early and late season growth. This makes it ideal for all intensive grazing swards. 16 17
