Employee Profile Our business provides many of our staff with rewarding career opportunities and experiences. Here’s what some of our team have to say about working at H3: Tracey Geyer I started the graduate programme at the beginning of 2018, after finishing a Bachelor of Applied Management degree at Wintec. While studying, I gained experience in events through volunteering in Arise Church and gaining a scholarship with the NZ National Fieldays Society. I found out about the graduate programme in my second year of studying through an event lecturer. It was an exciting opportunity being offered. I knew the Graduate Programme was the next step to take in developing my career in the event industry. This year has been filled with a range of events, and I have learned and gained a deeper insight into the event process. I started the year working on the HSBC NZ Sevens and have also worked on events with international stars and comedians like Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge, and Jimmy Carr. I am fortunate to have worked alongside a number of teams creating something extraordinary and been involved in different projects occurring in the business. Each day is different, providing a range of opportunities to learn. The journey has been one of professional development, but also I have grown personally. I look forward to seeing what I can learn and am so thankful for the opportunities provided this far. I lam excited to see where the future takes me. Olivia Rendle I started at H3 after completing my Bachelor of Communication Studies at the University of Waikato. Having worked in the events industry throughout my studies at Ticketek, I had learned about the graduate programme very early on and aimed to get a position at H3. I majored in Marketing and Public Relations, and was looking forward to putting my skills to use at H3. So far, the graduate programme has been a very exciting experience. My first rotation was with the Major Events team who were working on the Hamilton Sevens. It was great to be able to get stuck into such a huge event right from the start. This was an exciting opportunity to see how a major event worked and contribute to making the first Hamilton tournament a success. As well as working with the Major Events team, I have worked with the Business Support and Business Events teams and I have just started my four-month rotation with the Impact Events team. I have been able to learn so much from so many talented people. It has been a privilege to be able to move around the business and experience all the different parts that make up H3. It has given me a deeper understanding of how not only this business works but how this industry works. I am glad that I was chosen to be a part of this programme and I look forward to seeing where it takes me. H3 GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME 2019 | PAGE 4 |
