GORDIAN KNOT 2019 N AT O R A P I D D E P L O YA B L E C O R P S G R E E C E General Exercise GORDIAN KNOT 2019 (GOKT 19) is a national, two level (operational and tactical) Command Post Exercise (CPX) that will train NATO Rapid Deployable Corps-Greece (NRDC-GR) and its associated Joint Logistics Support Group (JLSG) in planning and conducting a Non- Article 5 Small Joint Operation (Land) with limited complexity. NRDC-GR will utilise an “integrated model JTF HQ” with Supported and Supporting Inter-relationships (SSI), as described in the Bi-SC Conceptual Framework For Alliance Operations (CFAO) with regard to Component Commands (CCs), simultaneously conducting operational and tactical command and control, suitable for a SJO (L) of a limited complexity. NRDC-GR National and Multinational personnel will be tested during the exercise.

GORDIAN KNOT 2019 N AT O R A P I D D E P L O YA B L E C O R P S G R E E C E Demonstrating Capabilities Contacting GOKT19, NATO Rapid Deployable Corps - Greece will demonstrate its capability as a highly capable, constantly adapting, reliable Headquarters (HQ), ready to cope with future challenges, as well as the high level of training and professionalism of its personnel. Additionally it reflects our contributing Nations’ dedication to the Alliance and to project stability in the fragile balance of the Alliance’s borders, taking advantage of NRDC-GR HQ strategic location in the South-Eastern edge of Europe. Moreover: 1) Demonstrate NRDC-GR significant progress in adapting to the emerging security threats in the physical, virtual and cognitive dimensions, in order to be capable to respond to future security challenges as part of the Alliance’s effort. 2) Assure NATO community and Partner Nations of NRDC-GR continuing ability to effectively contribute to the regional and wider South-Eastern NATO flank security and stability. 3) Reinforce the Hellenic commitment to the Alliance as well as keeping the appropriate level of readiness for collective defence and crisis response as a valuable stabilising asset for the Alliance in the South Flank of Europe. GORDIAN KNOT 2019 will be a platform for NRDC-GR to demonstrate its advanced capabilities. CJOC consists the “heart” of NRDC-GR HQ during operations
N AT O R A P I D D E P L O YA B L E C O R P S G R E E C E GOKT 19 Affiliated Units GORDIAN KNOT 19 is NRDC-GR’s main annual exercise. Through its preparation and execution, it helps build capacity capability and readiness of all the HQ personnel and Subordinate Units. During this exercise we will put to the test new practices, concepts, structures and methods, in order to follow the evolution of the ever changing operation environment. Active but also former members of NRDC-GR from participating Nations are our best and most credible spokespersons and ambassadors in the wider civil and military community. VALUES BASED SECURITY NATO was founded on the principles of Democracy, Sovereignty and mutual Security. NRDC-GR remains an essential NATO Force Structure HQ infiltrating to all its personnel, national and international, the gravity of its role concerning the contribution to the defence of the Alliance according these principles, infusing military virtues, professionalism, optimism and morale while keeping exquisite human relations. This cooperation facilitates mutual and beneficial synergies, by common study and internship programs, conferences, seminars, etc.

To that aim, NRDC-GR endeavors Civil-Military Interaction (CMI), through permanent cooperation with most relevant civil organizations, as UNOCHA, UNHCR, ICRC, IOM, Blue Shield and many others, facilitating common understanding, training and education.
N AT O R A P I D D E P L O YA B L E C O R P S G R E E C E SHORT HISTORY OF NRDC-GR Evaluation (CREVAL). This CREVAL was conducted in June 2011, and the HQ was declared “Combat Prepared”. NRDC-GR is a multinational HQ, one of the nine Graduated Readiness Forces Land Headquarters, of the NATO Force Structure.
