18 18GWENT GLAMORGAN Welcome to Gwent We hope you will have a very happy year garden visiting! This year we have a terrific range of gardens to visit, from hillside gardens with stunning views, to rural idylls, to the town gardens of the Usk Open Gardens weekend. Look out for some lovely gardens opening for the first time - marked clearly in the booklet as New. The garden on our front cover, Woodlands Farm, is opening for a whole fortnight in April so that you can catch the lovely cherry blossom at its best. Do go to the website, www.ngs.org.uk, to find fuller garden descriptions and more photos than here in our new-format slimline booklet. Also on the website is the latest information - the (very) occasional cancellation and extra “pop up” openings. Check on splendid Glen Trothy garden, too late to list in the booklet but opening in June - all details on the web. Your visits to our gardens last year enabled the National Garden Scheme to donate nearly £3 million to nursing and health charities, at a time when they need these funds more than ever. So a big thank you for your support, and a very warm welcome to our gardens in 2022.
