BATTERY 2030+ A LARGE-SCALE RESEARCH INITIATIVE • Inventing the batteries of the future by reinventing the way we invent the batteries • Providing breakthrough technologies to the European battery industry across the full value chain • Enabling long-term European leadership in both existing markets (road transport, stationary energy storage) and future emerging applications (robotics, aerospace, medical devices, internet of things, …) Ultrahigh Smart Environmental performances functionalities sustainability
OUR ROUTE TO ROADMAP IMPLEMENTATION Next phase in Manifesto Preparatory First three Consortium Roadmap preparation and call text Coordination years start 1st built end of published with the and Support September 2017 2018 March 2020 battery Action 2019 2020 partnership
SOME ROADMAP HIGHLIGHTS • To suggest research actions that needs a European large-scale and long-term approach which can address challenges we will solve together • To utilize all European large scale infrastructures (neutron facilities, synchrotrons and high performance computing) for accelerating the discovery of new and disruptive battery chemistries • To accelerate the pace to reach the battery cell targets in the SET-Plan and long- term to go beyond these targets and expectations • To support the building of an attractive research community to provide a skilled workforce to academia, research institutes and industry in a multitude of topics and approaches
