Suddenly, at just sixteen years old, Amal’s bright future is upended: he is convicted of a crime he didn’t commit and sent to prison. Unfortunately for the team they were unable to finish the week off in style as the counter attack of Nicola Bailey Orewa College and their stoic defence would frustrate the team in the Director of Sport final. Despite the result the team had an outstanding week. The side said goodbye to four year 13 students (Cameron Ross, Joel Stewart, Jarred Patel and Hayden Hartley) who have gone beyond for this team and were integral in implementing the outstanding team culture that this side has. I want to thank Blake Kayes McDowall and Viv Jamieson for giving up a considerable amount of time over the past five years to ensure that the side is supported and prepared for every match. The team wouldn’t be able to run without incredible volunteers like yourselves who give up so much more than just your time.
