Orchids is synonym with a school where children run to the school not because they ‘have to’ but be- cause they ‘want to’. At Orchids, our constant effort is to empower our students and to create leaders of tomorrow. We believe in teaching our students ‘how to think’ rather than ‘what to think ‘so that they can make informed choices. We aim to create a stimulating and engaging atmosphere which will enhance a child’s latent potential. 03
Sky is the limit: Excellent results a reflection of dedication. Orchids strongly believe that all students are talented and smart. For the students to bloom they need to be coached and nurtured appropriately to give their best. The two months’ hostel facility for class 10 and 2nd PUC with one-to-one coordination has resulted in great results. 2nd PUC The institution discouraged tuitions and adopted best methods to impart education and also to train them to face the board examination. The fruits of the hard work by the school management, faculty and the students are the 100 % results with all students getting distinction and first class. We are one among the few institutions which could achieve 100% results. This is the unique feature of Orchids PU College needless to emphasize the efforts of the management and the faculty. 04

Students’ Corner. How I Managed My Online Classes. By Kusumavarshini. G We all know that students had been suddenly exposed to online teaching and learning due to the pandemic. For a few days we became used to ‘All play and no work’. Learning should never stop. ‘Every dark cloud has a silver lining’ and in this scenario online classes came as a blessing. There is no doubt that online classes proved to be useful, but the actual question that rose was “How well do we manage these online classes?” We students were new to this kind of teaching and learning, moreover most of us lacked the knowledge of how to manage the online classes. The school has taught us to try different methods to tackle a situation and not give up. I’m happy to tell you all that we did really great. I managed the online classes efficiently and enhanced my productivity. The first and foremost thing I did was to prepare a timetable containing the list of the online classes that I had for the week and stick it in a place from where it was directly visible to me. By this way I kept myself reminded of the classes I had and prepared for the same. Next thing to do was to treat the online classes as real classes and make sure to follow the same discipline as in a real class. 13
I also had to develop the habit of making a note of the major assignments that were given to us and set a due date for ourselves. We made sure we met the time targets. We set up a dedicated learning environment anddiscovered what kind of environment best suited. We made sure, we had all the materials, books and software while attending an online. Sometimes Internet connectivity became a hindrance to learning but the school sent recorded sessions which helped us to cope up with the concepts. These were some strategies we used to stay organized. Online classes too provided an excellent platform to learn. Though they came with unique challenges, we could manage these online classes efficiently by adopting time management, beingwell organized and studying regularly. To conclude I would love to say that neither now nor in the future can virtual classes be replace ‘The Real School and the Teachers’. 14

Parents’ corner: Vishal. R was a student of The Orchids from LKG to 2nd PUC, completed his board exam securing first class in the year 2019-20. His father has mailed a letter of appreciation to the school. Vishal’s father’s letter. Dear Orchid The day has come to bid adieu our bonding with Orchid. This may just be a school/college to many, but for a few parents like us, it was our own home. My son, was the cherry of my eyes when he was a toddler, and Orchid, as well was just out of the crib then. We just joined him to ensure he does not go too far from us, and it is okay to spend the first 2 KG years in a nearby school. The initial plan was to move him out to a GOOD SCHOOL for 1st standard, but the way my family and Orchid got connected, made the whole plan fade away, and it took very little time for us to realize that he indeed was in GOOD school. It has been nearly 14 years since then, and my son has grown more in the laps of Orchid than of his mother. Its not just a school for us. You have guided us in every step. If my son has not fared well, it was our failure, and I do not have an iota of disrespect or doubt about your efforts. Yes, he could have really fared well had he not gone behind fame, but certain things happen beyond our control. You have equally nurtured his talents, along with acting responsibly, alerting us whenever he was moving South, and onus of his failure, if any, was totally ours. Had he not joined the hostel, his PUC results could have been still worse, and I thank you for making him reach at least a decent figure to talk of. 16
More than a ranking student which every parents crave for, you have molded him as a good human, which itself is a great gift a parent can deserve. We carry loads and loads of good memories associated with you; there are plenty to name. It is hard to name the teachers/mentors/guides in my son's journey from LKG to PUC, to thank them individually by name since the list is long, but would like to convey my heartfelt thanks to everyone and everything you have done as a school, as teachers, and as guides - we carry this respect, love, and pride of being associated with you, and we heartily wish you good luck in your feature endeavors, and we soon wish to see Orchid reach more heights. We request your continued support and blessings on my son, if not directly, at least in your prayers. May god be with you. Thank you Orchid - we miss you very dearly, and we wish you all the best..! With Best Regards S. Raghavendra Prasad (Vishal’s father). 17
