Event Dates : Pre-Worlds and Australian Nationals 29-31 December 2018 Worlds 2-7 January 2019 Event includes Classic fleet- 8400 and older
Race Area Situated between the mainland and Carnac Island, the Fremantle coast line offers superb sailing conditions in protected and pristine sailing waters. Main course area will be in the vicinity of the combined Charlie and Echo Course areas. (this is the race map from the Perth 2011 ISAF worlds) All racing will be afternoon (unless circumstances change). Average wind speeds traditionally 18-22kn SW. The ocean conditions present a low wave ‘chop’ on a mild swell.
Containers, chandleries, sailmakers etc Containers arriving from interstate or internationally will be stored onsite (location TBC) and available for continued use as workshops and storage throughout the event. (pictures of containers not that interesting- so sailing shots as well) All facilities for sailors for a professional world class event- numerous sail makers, chandleries, boat repairers, and pubs all at or near to the event.

Sight seeing Fremantle Prison Tours (crews do not return?) Fremantle Prison is one of Western Australia’s premier tourist attractions and the only World Heritage listed building in the State. The Prison was built by convicts in the 1850s and was used as a place of incarceration for almost 140 years. Explore the labyrinth of tunnels 20 metres beneath the Prison by foot and by boat.
