Welcome to
   Clifton
 Observatory
   An Iconic Bristol Venue

  The Clifton Observatory occupies an imposing
   site above the Avon Gorge and is not difficult
to understand why this location attracts thousands
of visitors each year to experience the magnificent
breath-taking views over the city of Bristol and the
        notorious Clifton Suspension Bridge.

The
     Ceremony
 For larger wedding ceremonies we invite you
to say “I Do” in our recently refurbished William
West Room furnished with a stunning chandelier
 and striking deco. The William West room can
 seat up to 60 guests, with room for additional
                 standing guests.

 For a more intimate occasion we can host civil
ceremonies within the Iconic Observatory Tower
with a seated/standing capacity of 10-15 guests.

  For those looking for unique surroundings civil
ceremonies can be held in the Giants Cave, a 130
 step climb down to our viewing platform which
 overlooks the Avon Gorge and Infamous Clifton
Suspension bridge. The Cave capacity is approx.
                   20 standing.

   A Registrar must be booked to attend the
   Ceremony. This should be done as early as
    possible through Bristol Registry Office.

The
      Drinks
     Reception
   All of our ceremony packages will include a
          celebratory toast for all guests.

   Following the service, for those hosting their
ceremony within the William West, your guests will
 be invited up to our 360-rooftop terrace offering
  spectacular views across the Bristol Skyline and
            Clifton Suspension Bridge.

 For those hosting ceremonies within our Tower &
 Cave, guests will be provided with a celebratory
  drink to toast the occasion whilst taking in the
surrounds from the tower or viewing platform over
                  the Avon Gorge

Catering
Our William West room can cater for a number of
catering options depending on your preference
and party size. We have three preferred caterers
working at Clifton Observatory, each of which has
a dedicated planner with whom you can discuss
  possible menus and formats. The WW has a
 seated capacity of 60 banquet style and up to
                 120 for standing.

     Canapes and light bite options available
           within the Tower & Cave.

                 Our caterers are:

            Kates Kitchen
            Parsnip Mash

We also have a range of street food style suppliers
     who can operate from the Observatory.

Drinks
 The Clifton Observatory is a fully licensed venue
offering a range of beverages throughout the day.
  Our license permits us to serve until 11.30pm.

Music
Within the William West you are free to arrange
your own DJ or Band for an evening party. The
William West is equipped with a Sonos system
      which also operates on the roof top.

  • Exclusive hire of William West room & 360 roof terrace from 9am – midnight (Roof terrace closes at 10.30pm)

Wedding Package for
Photography Room / Tower
An intimate wedding package for up to 10 -15 guests seated/standing within our photographer room
                     positioned on level 2 of the Clifton Observatory tower.

      • Exclusive hire of Photography Room for civil ceremony (2 hr period between 10am – 5pm)
          • Celebrational toast beverage for after the ceremony - Sparking wine & orange juice
• Floral display for registrar table • Access to Giants Cave, Museum and Camera Obscure for all guests

                                       Giants Cave
          A unique wedding setting for up to 20 guests (standing) within our Giants Cave
(please note the cave is accessed by 130 steep steps, not suitable for elderly, under 4’s or those who suffer from back injuries or claustrophobe)

               Exclusive hire of Giants Cave for civil ceremony (timings from 4pm – 6pm)

            • Celebrational beverage after the ceremony - Sparking Wine & Orange Juice
                • Access to Giants Cave, Museum and Camera Obscure for all guests
