REGISTRATION INFORMATION PACK A DATES HEALTHY LUNCH On Monday, February 3, registration will begin for Holly Springs residents only. Registrations are accepted online or in person at Bass Lake Park, the Cultural Center and the Hunt Recreation Center. LATE FEES Parents who are late picking up their children will be charged $10 for every 15 minute time period they are late. Late fees must be paid prior to the next day of attending camp. Summer Camp Hunt Center Ages: 5‒13 Parks and Recreation is planning a fun, healthy, and active camp for children ages 5‒13 years old. Each week, Monday through Friday, the children will go swimming, on one field trip, participate in a simple cooking activity, visit other parks and facilities in Holly Springs, and most of all have FUN! Nature Explorers Summer Camp Bass Lake Park Ages: 8‒13 Summer camp is designed to extend park programs that are offered throughout the year. Fishing basics, taught as a four- hour class is extended throughout the week, Monday through Friday, to give a young angler plenty of opportunity to develop their fishing skills. Archery 101 and 202 teaches safety and proper form to allow a young archer plenty of time to develop new skills. Summer camp archers can sign up for Archery 202 after camp to continue developing their skills. Canoeing basics begins with a boating safety presentation covering weather, clothing and trip preparation. Basic canoe strokes are reinforced along with safe, age appropriate personal rescue techniques including controlled capsize. All campers need to bring a change of clothes including a towel and water shoes, no flip flops. Campers will also need to bring a non- refrigerated lunch and water bottle; snacks will be provided. Parents will need to check their campers in on Monday to complete forms and waivers. Transportation for Friday offsite trips and other travel needs is provided in the Bass Lake fifteen passenger van. We do not offer early drop-off or after program care. If a camper needs to leave camp early, or will not attend camp on a certain date, please communicate this to camp staff as soon as possible. Carolina Children’s Theatre - World Fairy Tale Workshop Holly Springs Cultural Center Age: 6‒10 Join us for a full day of drama/theatre games and rehearsals for our original CCT play based on classic world fairy tales. Circus Camp The first day we will audition for parts in the play. Each day Holly Springs Cultural Center children will receive lessons on vocals/diction and projection, Ages: 5‒14 music, line memorization skills and choreography. CCT - Youth Ensemble Summer Drama Camp Goldilocks on Trial Holly Springs Cultural Center Age: 10‒14 Goldilocks is on trial for breaking and entering and the destruction of private property. A wide cast of fairytale characters serve as witnesses for the prosecuting and defense attorneys. To hear the Bare family tell it, Goldie should be found guilty. But an unscrupulous judge and a slew of unreliable witnesses - including a blind witch, a forgetful old woman who lives in a shoe, a dwarf with a nasty disposition, a skittish tuffet-tester, and a not-so-bright county boy who’d trade beans for a cow make it hard to build a case against the gal with the golden hair. Scripts are given on the very first day of class to come prepared to hit the ground running! The class will also work on sets, props, costumes and makeup for a very busy week of drama. Each camp ends with a final sharing on the last day of class for friends and family @ 3pm, followed by a cast party. Through a series of scenes and monologues - everything from an accidental first date to a most unusual art exhibit to creating that last, best selfie - we meet a group of teens who are struggling to find the balance between documenting their lives and living them. Written by Jonathan Dorf, this play is for high school and advanced middle school students. Auditions are first day of camp, so please come prepared with a one-minute monologue.
