JUNE 2020 | FMB NEWS Kappa Kappa Psi is a co-ed band service fraternity here on campus. We serve the band program in a variety of ways, from working registration tables to organizing the band hall. Outside of serving the band, we attend our own district and national conventions focused on leadership, service, and brotherhood. Last year was big for us, as we nearly doubled in size, hosted a leadership conference, and were awarded the Chapter of the Year of our district. Whether you are a returning or new member, we would love for you to join our chapter; it is a great way to not only give back to the FMB, but also a chance to form a family like connection with fellow band members. We are here to help you adjust to the band and to college life! If you are a freshman or a transfer member, we’d love for you to reach out to us if you have any questions about marching band, classes, time management, or if you just want to make a friend before you get to State! We want to get to know you and help you feel welcome! If you have any questions about ΚΚΨ or our chapter (Epsilon) you can contact Emma Nordeman (een56@msstate.edu) or Madeline Lee (ml1886@msstate.edu). Feel free to tweet us or message us on social media! We look forward to a wonderful season in the FMB with you! Hail State! Instagram - @kkpsi_epsilon1923 Twitter - @TeamEpsilon Facebook - Kappa Kappa Psi - Epsilon The Lambda Phi chapter of Phi Mu Alpha would like to say welcome to all of the new and returning members of the Famous Maroon Band. For those that do not know, Phi Mu Alpha is a men’s social fraternity founded on the basis of advancing music in America. Since the chapter’s founding in 1963, Lambda Phi has seen numerous people cross through that come from a wide variety of majors and backgrounds. Our philanthropy is centered around bringing music into our community. For example, we assist with the MSU music programs and host and perform our own concerts on campus and within the Starkville community. Joining Phi Mu Alpha is more than service though. If you decide to join, you will be joining a diverse and welcoming brotherhood with the likes of people such as John Philip Sousa and Fred Rogers. Phi Mu Alpha is not only a good way to meet new people but will also help create lifelong friends and memories. During band camp, reach out to a brother in his letters or attend our information session if you want to learn more. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via email (msstate.sinfonia@gmail.com), or you can message us on social media! We will be posting recruitment events closer to band camp, so follow us to ensure that you don’t miss out! We look forward to seeing all of you this upcoming semester! Hail State!
