Class 901. Inter Village Competition Open to any Village, Allotment, Gardening Club or Horticultural Society. Each exhibit will be pointed to a maximum of 10 points, plus 10 points for general appearance. A display consisting of nine exhibits as per below; 1 Pot Plant: (Flowering or Foliage) up to 8" pot. 2 Vases of Flowers: 2 kinds – five stems of each. 1 Dish of Fruit 4 Exhibits of vegetables from the following: Leeks, Parsnips, Marrows, Potatoes, Carrots, Tomatoes, Onions, Runner Beans 1 Exhibits of any other vegetable (not listed above) Please refer to the R.H.S handbook for quantities. Regulations and Information All exhibitors should also ensure they are familiar with Terms & Conditions that are included with the Booking Forms. General Rules and Information 1. All exhibitors’ property will be at the risk of the exhibitor. Neither the Flower Tent nor NADAS will be liable for any damages or losses to exhibits. 2. The Show will be open from 8am to 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday. 3. In order to avoid empty spaces, competitors are asked to inform the Show Manager at least a week before the Show if they are unable to exhibit as planned. 4. Individual entrants entering multiple classes in the Flower tent will receive a maximum of two tickets. 5. Please retain a record of your entries by marking the schedule and bringing it with you when staging exhibits. 6. In the event of there being fewer than three entries in any class, the class may be cancelled. 7. The Judge’s decision is final. 8. The Society reserves the right to withhold prize money in the event of failure to comply with these conditions. 9. There are water points around the marquee if you require water 10. All Exhibitors must collect a class card with their allocated number for judging, from the steward for each entry. The card must be placed face down with the exhibit after staging. 11. In the event that you win first place, you must take the slip of paper from the back of the Cup Certificate to the ‘Trophy’s Stand’ (located on Avenue B. Next to the Members Enclosure) for the cup to be engraved. You will have the option to leave the cup with the Show or take the cup home for the duration of one year. 12. Prize money can be collected from the ICE CASH POINT.
Floral Arts Rules 1. Floral Art classes will be judged in accordance with the NAFAS Competitions Manual Third Edition 2015. Reg. Charity No. 1101348. The Judge’s decision will be final. 2. An exhibit is composed of natural plant material displayed within the space defined in the schedule 3. All measurements are approximate 4. Any exhibits remaining after 6pm on Sunday will be moved, but left in the Flower Tent to enable drapes to be removed. 5. With the exception of the miniature, petite, Youth and Floristry classes (858, 859, 861 & 862), all exhibits must be staged at the venue. 6. Items requiring special time or expertise for their preparation may be brought ready assembled, but must not predominate in the design except for class 857 7. All exhibits must be the unaided work of the competitor(s). 8. Exhibitors only in the competition area during staging. 9. No visible labelling identifying the exhibitor will be allowed on the table. 10. Each exhibitor will receive a permit which will admit one vehicle to the showground for the day of staging. Regulations and Information Cont.…. 11. Exhibitors in classes 851, 852, 853, 854, 855, 856, 857 and 862 will receive one entrance ticket for each day of the show. 12. Exhibitors in classes 858, 859, 860, and 861 will receive one entrance ticket for either day of the show. 13. Tickets will be available for collection in the flower tent once exhibits have been staged. 14. Staging must be complete by 8pm. Stewards will then ask you to leave the Marquee. 15. Class 863 - Exhibitors entering any Floral Arts may enter this class free of charge. A special prize relates this class, and a “People’s choice” certificate will be awarded. Inter Village Rules
1. To be staged on a 5’10” x 2’4” table, overhang permitted but maximum size of exhibit not to exceed 8' x 3'6". 2. All measurements are approximate 3. Any exhibits remaining after 6pm will be moved, but left in the Flower Tent to enable drapes to be removed. 4. Exhibitors only in the competition area during staging 5. Black background material will be provided. 6. No extra backing is allowed but tables may be covered. 7. Pots and blocks may be used to raise exhibits. 8. Each entry will receive two Exhibitor vehicle passes for entrance to the showground for staging on Friday before the show. 9. Each entry will receive two entrance tickets for each day of the show, which will be available from the flower tent once exhibits have been staged. 10. Staging must be complete by 8pm. Stewards will then ask you to leave the Marquee. Grow Your Own Rules 1. All classes will be judged in accordance to the Royal Horticultural Society Rules 8th Edition revised 2016. 2. Vases for flower exhibits are kindly loaned by Cold Ash and Ashmore Green Horticultural Society for use at the show and must be returned to the stewards upon collection of exhibits on the Sunday of the show. 3. Black plates for displaying fruit/vegetable exhibits will be available for use if needed. 4. Displaying variety or common name on small card is encouraged, but not compulsory. 5. Exhibits must be staged in the Flower Tent on the Friday before the Show (10am – 8pm) 6. Exhibitors must enter a minimum of four classes to receive 1 ticket for entry to the Show (can be used on either day) and a vehicle permit which will allow entry onto the showground on the Friday. Exhibits may be removed only after 5pm on the Sunday. 7. No visible labeling identifying the exhibitor will be allowed on the table for judging. Exhibitors will be provided with an allocated number for judging at the time of staging.
Youth Rules 1. Exhibits must be dropped to the Flower Tent on the Friday before the Show (10am – 8pm) 2. Each exhibitor will receive a vehicle permit which will allow entry onto the showground on the Friday. 3. Exhibits may be removed only after 5pm on the Sunday. 4. No visible labeling identifying the exhibitor will be allowed on the table for judging. Exhibitors will be provided with an allocated number for judging at the time of staging. 5. Certificates will be awarded that can be taken at the end of the show when collecting your exhibit. Home Produce Rules 1.
