MAY 2019 Introduction ‘There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning.’ It takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice to build a business and the road to a successful business is full of challenges. It is not easy for any entrepreneur to go through so much, and that is when the support systems come in. These support systems can be your employees, your family members, your vendors, your account managers or maybe the seller support team. These are people who help in facilitating your day-to-day business process and lend you a helping hand. This month we thank all such people who have made business easier for you as well as for us because they have truly been the support system for your success. This month’s edition informs you about the new process of adding variants to your listings and the updated Seller Learning Centre. In addition, we have the complete picture coverage of the seller events that took place in different cities across India. Last but not the least, get inspired by stories of struggle and success of people who have been performing exceptionally well in their businesses and making it big. MAY 2019 Up and Coming ‘Adding Variants’ Made Easier While there may be a lot of helping hands to your business, we tried our bit of being your support system by making the process of adding variants easier. What has changed? You now have an option of ‘Create Variant’ under the ‘Edit Listings’ tab. Now simply click on ‘Create variants’ and add as many attributes that you want. With the addition of the new option you no longer have to create a listing from the beginning but can simply add new variant details (like size and color) of an existing product. There are three methods of adding variants to your listings. Method 1: Login to seller dashboard My Listings Add a New Listing Search product by Brand / FSN Sell in this Category Add Variant Method 2: Login to seller dashboard My Listings Active Listings Edit Listing Add Variants. Method 3: Login to seller dashboard My listings Active Listings Select the product to add variant Edit (click on 3 dots) Add Variant 03

The seller learning centre has been revamped with versatile and updated content to help you in learning everything in the easiest possible way. With added articles, videos and FAQ’s on topics related to Onboarding, Registrations, Listings, Orders, Inventory, Returns and more, the new content has been designed to impart maximum knowledge to all of you. MAY 2019 Business Hours #NayeIndiaKeSellers During business hours we collaborated with you to address your concerns and tried to come up with resolutions; this was our way of becoming your #SuccessKaSupportSystem This entire month was packed with seller events - ‘Business Hours’ in five major cities across India (Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata & Delhi). These events saw a large number of seller from these cities attending the events. The events started with seller networking, where we had booths for almost all categories like Listings, Orders, Returns etc. wherein we addressed all the concerns faced by our sellers and provided them with resolutions. For the first time ever we had seller workshop where all the sellers collaborated and co-ideated with fellow sellers and Flipkart leaders on what can be done to enhance the selling experience. We then went on to the ‘Keynote speech’ where a leader from Flipkart highlighted everything that happened during the previous year and what we have in store for the rest of the year. The event ended with a Q&A session, where our experts answered questions on ‘Usual Price’ and the new offer format. Here we give you a glimpse of the events. 05

These stories are the journey of people who went from being ‘Inspired’ to ‘Inspiring’ people around them with their dedication, hard work, sacrifices and their commitment towards their work. Read on to be inspired. Mohit Vashist Vinto Sports, Jalandhar Silver Seller ‘A person who started his journey with almost no support, saw success when he had a solid support system- The Flipkart System’ This story of a manufacturer from Jalandhar is nothing short of an inspiration. He is a true example of a person who never gave up on his dreams. A story full of challenges that he faced throughout his journey before tasting success. Mohit Vashisht, a small scale manufacturer from Jalandhar, manufacturing sports and fitness products, started by manufacturing badminton racquets. He did everything right from taking orders to packaging and supplying them in the market. He faced a constant issue with timely payments and on top, the profit margin turned out to be zero. Selling on Flipkart was the talk of the town during those days, and yet people had their own doubts about selling their products online. Mohit went ahead anyway and registered himself on Flipkart as a seller. “Initially I thought there would be some side income through this until my payments get sorted, but to tell you the truth, it was the best decision of my life”. His business grew substantially, as the orders kept pouring in. Ask him about how he felt and he said: “It felt as if my shop was open 24X7 and the entire country was my market”. 06
MAY 2019 He expanded his business and started manufacturing other sports products too. He started with a rented apartment and now owns a house, a shop, a warehouse and a car. When asked what he has to convey to other sellers, he mentions: “It still feels like it is just the beginning. Kareem Top Shoes, Hyderabad Gold Seller ‘He had been working for the past 10 years but it was due to the support of his family that he took the decision of shifting his business online and everything changed.’ Mohd. Kareem, a footwear seller from Hyderabad, has a shoe store for the past 10 years in a very prominent marketplace. His business was doing good until 2015, by when most of his customers had shifted to online shopping. His sales declined drastically and moving ahead seemed difficult. Kareem had constant support from his family during this crucial time. They stood by him like a pillar while he decided to shift his business online. They were the ones who motivated him to keep moving ahead despite the downfall and helped him set up his business online. He registered with Flipkart in the year 2017, in the footwear category and his business has been growing ever since. He faced a lot of challenges at the start of his journey but eventually, everything fell into place and he started making profits. Initially, the business turnover was approximately Rs. 5 Lacs/year which grew up to 60 Lacs/year. Kareem does not sell on any other platform and still makes good profits. He credits his account manager for the growth of his business. Kareem still feels that there is a huge opportunity ahead in selling online. With all the success he is planning to expand his business both online and offline. 07
