Exhibitions and Installations
In a year that has imposed tricky restrictions on both event In Memoriam
organisers and audiences, hands-on and/or indoor events have
proved difficult. Exhibitions and installations have emerged as
a fantastic format for engaging the public with science safely.
The added benefit is that they provide a great way to intertwine
science with other specialities such as art and to take science to
wider and more diverse audiences.

Every year we make sure that we include a number of free Art and Exhibition | All Ages | Sat 26 Jun–Fri 9 Jul | Daily

What a better year than this one to embrace the outdoors. Our Deep Time Walk

audience to safely explore and engage with STEM locally to

We are well known for our large selection of hands-on Creative Cartons

with those we have produced in house, as well as those we and
our partners ordinarily present in other Festival venues.

This year, however, none of this was possible and we have
needed to get creative about how we can deliver hands-on
activities in a way that is both safe and convenient. Here are a
selection of just a few of the solutions that we and our inventive
partners have come up with.

Created in a time before our lives were thrust into a global
pandemic, Catalysing Creativity explores the conversations that
underpin cross disciplinary collaboration and the insight this work
brings to our understanding of the complex world we live in.

During the collaborative process of the making of these
works, artists and scientists embarked on a journey into each
other’s work and practices.
