Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar – A Musical Adventure follows all of your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar. Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York’s Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends – Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo – have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty lets his curiosity get the better of him and makes his escape – with the help of some prodigious penguins – to explore the world. Cast List Alex King Julien/Mason Libby Greene Beckett Mattern Latham Young Ava Schelin Marty Skipper Avery Greene Kaitlyn Martin Avery Tussing Veronika Baird Melman Kowalski/Lemur Braden Corwin Taylor Hanna Sydnee Terhorst Zoo Keeper Zeke/Mort Gloria Riley Goldsberry Cara Kless Zoo Keeper Zelda/Maurice Isabelle Terhorst Riley Hayes Director: Daniel Dean Miranda Daniel Dean Miranda started choreographing for NTPA in the Summer of 2008. From there, he took on shows as director, choreographer, and music director. In 2015, he took a break to explore other ventures, and realized this is where his passion was. After a 3 year hiatus, he is thrilled to return to NTPA to be working with such talented youth, and working with NTPA’s Repertory Theatre, helping bring Broadway style productions to the burbs! He has been a local actor since the age of six. Some of his acting credits include: Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, Jesus in Godspell, Emcee in Cabaret, Patsy in Monty Python’s Spamalot, William Barfée in The 25th Anual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance, among others. Directing credits include: Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd, The Wizard of Oz, Godspell, Little shop of Horrors, Seussical the Musical, Heathers the Musical, among others. Managing Director: Cibby Bowden Cibby Bowden joined the NTPA team in 2017 to serve as Director and Managing Director of NTPA – Fairview. Cibby has worked in the industry as a director and actress for over 35 years. She previously worked as Theatre Production Manager, Resident Director and Acting Instructor at Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center and as Theatre Director at Faith West Academy both in Katy, TX. Favorite director credits include; Little Women, Fiddler on the Roof, The Music Man, Oklahoma!, Once Upon a Mattress, A Christmas Carol, Annie Get Your Gun, Oliver Twist, Willy Wonka, Beauty and the Beast, Annie, Honk!, Legally Blonde, High School Musical 1 and 2, The Wizard of Oz, Shrek and Xanadu. She has also appeared in many of KVPAC’s Encore Players productions including Joanne in Sondheim’s Company, Mistress Paige in Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, Betty Meeks in The Foreigner, Mrs. Trotsky in All in the Timing and Effy in The Spitfire Grill. In her twenties, Cibby worked as an actress in Hollywood and can be seen (in re-runs!) on Full House, Cheers, Married with Children, Night Court, Star Trek the Next Generation, Days of our Lives and several films including Ghostbusters 2 and Maid to Order. 10
Cast Biographies Veronika Baird (Skipper) is excited to be apart of Madagascar Jr! This is her first time working with Mr. Danny and would like to thank him for the opportunity to be in this crackalackin’ show. She would also like to thank the incredible Mrs. Ashley for her encouragement. Lastly, Veronika is grateful for her amazing friends for introducing her to this show, and her family for their love and support. She hopes you enjoy the show and don’t forget to smile and wave. Braden Corwin (Melman) is in the 8th grade at Evans Middle School. This is his 6 production with NTPA. He is also in Advanced Theatre and does productions other places. He is excited about playing the role of the anxiously nervous giraffe Melman. He stays busy taking care of his juvenile musk turtle, his rainbow sharks, goldfish, guppies, and his cats and dogs. We are so proud of your love and dedication for acting/singing Braden. A huge thank you to Mr. Danny our wonderful director and Ms. Ashley for keeping him in back to back shows. Riley Goldsberry (Zookeepers Zoe and Zelda) is 10 years old and in the 4th grade at Luna Elementary. This is her 3rd production with NTPA. But she has performed in several others with another local theater group in the past. Riley also sings and plays the piano. When she is not practicing for her music lessons or theater, she loves to spend time at home with her family and friends. Riley would like to thank her parents for their love and support. Avery Greene (Marty) is 13 years old and in the 8th grade. She is so excited to be performing in her 8th major production at NTPA. Playing Marty in Madagascar has been one of Avery’s favorites roles along with Jafar (Aladdin Jr.), Witch (Into the Woods Jr.), and Gramma Tala (Moana Jr.). When Avery isn’t on the stage, she loves hanging out with theater friends, reading and obsessing over all things Disney and Broadway! She’d like to thank Mr. Danny for this amazing opportunity. Libby Greene (Alex) is 11 years old and a 6th grader at Melissa Middle School. Libby is so excited to be in her 8th major production at NTPA! Her favorite roles include Chef Louis (The Little Mermaid, Jr.) and the role of Alex in this show! When Libby is not performing, she loves to draw, read and hang out with her family and friends. She would like to thank Mr. Danny for this amazing opportunity! Taylor Hanna (Kawaski/Lew) is 9 years old and a 4th grader at Puster Elementry. This is Taylor’s 15th show with NTPA and she loves this amazing theatre family. Past favorite roles include Young Simba (Lion King Kids), Molly (Annie Jr.) and Chief Ancestor (Moana Jr.) Taylor would like to thank Mr. Danny for casting her is such fun roles. She would also like to thank her friends and family that come to see her show after show. 11
Cast Biographies Riley Hayes (Zookeeper Zeke and Maurice) is 10 years old and in the 5th grade at Stuber Elementary in Prosper. She is very excited to play Zookeeper Zeke and Maurice! This is Riley’s first production at NTPA – Fairview, but third with NTPA. She has loved being in musical theater and stepping out of her comfort zone and performing in front of audiences. When she’s not performing, Riley loves to cook and bake, play with her friends and do crafts. She is also very active in her Girl Scout Troop. She would like to thank Mr. Danny for this opportunity! Cara Kless (Gloria) is in 6th grade at the GATE Academy. She is thrilled to be performing in her 21st show at NTPA Fairview. When not on the stage, Cara enjoys her time with family and friends, reading, baking and anything that allows her to be creative. Cara is extremely grateful for the support of her family and friends, especially her grandparents who attend every show. A special thanks to the show volunteers for helping us to “Move It!” Kaitlyn Martin (Skipper) is 12 and in the 7th grade at Hendrick Middle School. Counting this production, this is Kaitlyn’s 15th major production with NTPA and their 20th overall. Kaitlyn loves to watch anime, cosplay, and read in their spare time. They are very grateful to be able to perform during these times, and they hope you are glad to be here too. A big thank you to Mr. Danny and the cast! ENJOY THE SHOW!!! Beckett Mattern (King Julien) is 11 years old and in 5th grade. This is Beckett’s third role through NTPA and he is excited to return to the stage to play this funny and flamboyant character! Beckett loves theatre, singing, reading, debate, and playing video games with his friends. Beckett looks forward to many more roles with NTPA and would like to thank Mr. Danny for making the process safe and fun during COVID! Ava Joelle Schelin (King Julian) is 14 years old and in 8th Grade at Frankford Middle School. This is her ninth NTPA production and 11th overall, with King Julian being one of her all-time favorite roles. Other favorites include Munkustrap and Demeter in Cats, Katherine in Freaky Friday, and Margo in Legally Blonde. Outside theater, she loves all things Disney and to volunteer with her mom and travel with her family. Ava is so grateful to Mr. Danny for leading this crazy fun adventure! Sydnee Terhorst (Melman) is 12 years old and in 7th grade. This is Sydnee’s 13th performance with NTPA. Some of her favorite roles have been Rumpleteaser(Cats), Evil StepMother(Into the Woods), Narrator 2(Game of Tiaras), Andrea(Once on This Island), Grace Farrell(Annie), and Bird Girl(Seussical). Sydnee’s hobbies include theatre, playing guitar, and singing. Sydnee would like to say Thank You to Mr Danny for making every show so memorable. She would also like to thank her family for always encouraging her to chase her dreams. 12
Cast Biographies Isabelle Terhorst (Gloria) is 13 years old and in 8th grade. This is Belle’s 11th performance with NTPA. Her previous roles include Bombalurina (Cats), Wolf(Into the Woods), Slightly(Peter Pan), Blood Packet Guy(Game of Tiaras), Wickersham(Seussical), Shanti(Jungle Book), and Blue/Mr Cuddles(Dystopia). Along with theatre Isabelle enjoys playing piano, singing, and writing stories. Isabelle would like to thank Mr Danny for believing in her and pushing out of her comfort zone. She would also like to thank her family for encouraging her to chase her dreams.” Avery Tussing (Marty) is 14 and in 8th grade at NTPA’s Academy. Avery has been in 20 productions, this is her 16th with NTPA. Some of Avery’s favorite roles include: Munkustrap in CATs, the Witch in Into The Woods, Ledahlord in James and the Giant Peach and Cat in the Hat in Seussical. Avery loves all things Broadway and enjoys that NTPA-Fairview is like a home away from home. Avery would like to thank Mr. Danny for putting on such a fun show and always helping Avery! Latham Young (Alex) is 12 years old and a 7th grader at The Young Academy for Boys. This is Latham’s 9th NTPA production. His favorite roles include ‘Les’ from Newsies and ‘Big Bad Wolf’ from Into The Woods. In addition to theater, Latham’s hobbies include skateboarding and playing guitar and bass.
