Eugene Lozinski, Pastor Fr. Andy Michels, Senior Associate Pastor Deacon Mark Kober, Permanent Deacon What does Christmas celebrate? Deacon Mike McKeown, Permanent Deacon He (Jesus) taught us to love Him by first loving us, even to death on Sacrament of Penance the cross. By loving us and holding us dear, He stirred us to love Him St. Mary: Wednesday 6:30-7:00 pm who had first loved us to the end. And this is clearly the reason: you Saturday 4:00-5:00 pm first loved us so that we might love you-not because you needed our Sunday 11:10-11:20 am (Before Latin Mass) love, but because we could not be what you created us to be except St. Michael: Sunday 8:00-8:20 am by you. (William of Saint Thierry, abbot) St. Paul: Sunday 11:30-11:45 am Japanese Martyrs: Saturday 7:30-7:45 pm This exchange of love begins on Christmas when God sends us His beloved Son Sacrament of Marriage who humbled Himself in order to enter into our fallen world. Bulletin Copy Deadline: Monday: noon Catholic Charities: 1-866-670-5163 The way of God is the way of love. “We will never be what God has created us to be without love.” Love begets love. This Christmas we ought to reflect long and hard on the divine plan. Christmas reveals and shows us God’s way of being and acting. This way (plan) is centered on love. All that God is and does is out of love. And we get this, we even give it a name, “The Spirit of Christmas.” What is the spirit of Christmas? Isn’t it a way of being and acting that is in accord with God’s plan? The Spirit of Christmas is a spirit of loving. It is a spirit of giving and sacrificing. It is a spirit of thinking of the other person. How often we find ourselves saying, “I wish this could last all year round!” We get it. And thank God for Christmas so that we can at least experience this for a few weeks each year. It is God’s plan that we experience this all year round so that we truly become what we were created to be. That is our faith. That is what we are about as disciples of Jesus-to put our faith in Him and to follow Him in His manner of acting which is a way of love. May love made flesh in Jesus fill you with His peace and joy on this Christmas Day 2019. Praised be Jesus Christ now and forever, Msgr. Eugene Lozinski
