VORRA’S 2015 Fallon Desert Race Final Information Packet Page 3 DRIVING DIRECTIONS DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO STOCKMAN’S CASINO, 1560 WEST WILLIAMS AVE, FALLON, NV FROM THE WEST (Reno) Take I80 to exit 48 toward US-95 Alt/US-50 Alt/E Fernley and turn right. At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit onto US-50 ALT. Continue on US-50 ALT for 25 miles. Stockman’s will be on the left FROM THE SOUTH (Las Vegas / Hawthorne) Head North on US / State Route 95. Turn left on US-50 West / West Williams Ave. Stockman’s will be on the right. FROM THE EAST (Elko) Head West on I80 to exit 83 toward Fallon / Las Vegas. Turn right US-50 West / West Williams Ave. Stockman’s will be on the right. FROM THE EAST (Ely) Head West on US-50 West toward Fallon. Stockman’s will be on the right. OVERNIGHT DRY CAMPING WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE START / FINISH LINE PITS (NO AMENITIES) DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM STOCKMAN’S CASINO TO THE START / FINISH AREA Turn LEFT on W Williams Ave / US-50, and continue East 12.2 miles to Salt Wells. VORRA’S 2015 Fallon Desert Race Final Information Packet Page 4 DAILY EVENT DETAILS THURSDAY, AUGUST 27, 2015 Course Inspection is open. Maximum speed is 35mph, and you must obey all Nevada laws. COURSE INSPECTION IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. You need to be familiar with the area at race mile 20 – dangerous G-Outs! FRIDAY, AUGUST 28, 2015 Course Inspection is open until MIDNIGHT. Racer Registration and Technical Inspection will take place from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the Stockman’s Casino. Non- street legal vehicles are to be trailered into the lot area. Vehicles must go through Tech Inspection at the VORRA tent before completing the Registration process. Vehicle Impound follows Tech in the Casino Lot for spectators until Registration concludes. Race registration will be located in the Stockman’s Casino lobby, and a completed Tech Form is required to register. All participants must present a valid photo ID and sign waiver releases to receive wristbands. A parent or legal guardian must accompany qualifying minor participants under the age of 18. That parent/guardian must be reachable while the minor is on the racetrack in case of emergency. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. Registration payments can be made by cash, check or credit card, with a separate $200 Transponder deposit required. ProPit will be providing pit services for the remote pit location in between Check Points 1 & 2. It is highly recommended that you utilize them as access to this area is from Check 2 via the Race Course ONLY PRIOR TO START OF RACE. During race, the only access in or out is Dixie Valley side through Rawhide. ProPit will be available during Tech & Registration for sign ups and to drop off equipment. Please note that this is an independent service provided; all inquiries should be made through ProPit. A mandatory driver’s meeting is being held at 8:00pm at the Fallon Convention Center East Entrance, which is located less than a mile Northeast of Stockman’s Casino on 100 Campus Way in Fallon. All entries must attend. Loss of starting position or time penalties may occur. Food is not allowed in the Convention Center. Please note: Minors (individuals under the age of 21) may pass through casino gaming areas only if accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Stockman’s restaurants are open to minors. SATURDAY, AUGUST 29, 2015 RACE DAY Course Inspection is closed. Participants are asked to stage their vehicles at the Start/Finish line at the following times: 5:30am Class 9, 11 & Full Metal (9hr time limit), 6:30am All Other Limited Classes (8hr time limit), and 3:30pm Unlimited Classes (8hr time limit). Vehicles may be held at the Start / Finish line at 1:30pm for Production and Limited Classes, and 10:30pm for Unlimited Classes if deemed unable to complete their next lap within published race time limit. The race time limit for Production and all other Limited Classes to finish is 3:00pm; race time limit for Unlimited Classes to finish is 12am Midnight. Individual DNF deadlines are 3:00pm and 12am Midnight, respectively, plus your stagger to the first starter in your grouping. VORRA Race Operations Radio Frequency is 151.625 MHz. Participants can contact R.O. for assistance & emergencies. Non-essential radio traffic must be avoided on this channel.
VORRA’S 2015 Fallon Desert Race Final Information Packet Page 5 SATURDAY, AUGUST 29, 2015 CONTINUED If your vehicle is disabled and need you assistance, you can fill out a stuck stub, distributed during registration, and pass it on to the vehicle behind you. Drivers are asked to give these stubs to the first available Race Official, either at a Visual, Road Crossing or Pit Area so that assistance can be deployed with in a timely manner. If you break and are unable to finish the race or withdraw please notify Race Officials IMMEDIATELY. Otherwise, you are presumed to be in harms way if unaccounted for and will be responsible for search and rescue efforts. Crews are asked to obey all signage and keep chase equipment and vehicles to a minimum at all designated Pit Areas. Fueling will only be allowed in designated Pit areas. Please view the full list of BLM Special OHV Recreation Permit Stipulations on the VORRA website at www.vorra.net. SUNDAY, AUGUST 30, 2015 Awards will be held at 11:00am at the Convention Center, East Entrance of 100 Campus Way in Fallon. BLM STIPULATIONS ALL TEAMS - Bring absorbent rugs, mats, tarps, etc. to be used for fluid containment under vehicles in pit areas and during times that spills are likely to occur. A clean-up kit is also required, and can be as basic as a shovel and heavy-duty trash bags capable of containing soil affected by a small spill. Spills greater than 1 quart must be reported to Race Officials or a BLM Representative. Your efforts in this regard are much appreciated, and will help assure a lasting presence of off road racing on public lands. Please view the full list of BLM Special OHV Recreation Permit Stipulations on the VORRA website at www.vorra.net. Note: It is essential that all persons participating in any event as a competitor, pit crew, official or course worker, as well as observers and spectators, realize that motor racing is a sport that is considered to be dangerous. Our rules are as stringent as possible to minimize that danger. SPECTATORS, PIT CREWS, PARTICIPANTS, AND WORKERS ASSUME ALL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE RISK INVOLVED. SPECTATOR RULES Spectators must travel on established or designated routes to transit to start and approved viewing areas. Spectators are prohibited from entering designated pit or course areas, as well as from traveling on the race course at any time during an event. Spectators shall be directed to park on one side of the road to allow for an open travel lane in case of emergencies. Avoid parking vehicles on brush or grass. Spectators are required to maintain a minimum of 150 feet from the race course unless allowed in a designated spectator area determined to be safe from race vehicles. Motorcycle and OHV free-play are prohibited in conjunction with and throughout the conduct of the event.
