20-08-2018 Independence Day celebration EYP "Saare Jehan se Achha Hindustan Hamara!" W e all felicitate our glorious nation and proudly say we are Indians! To commemorate India's 71 years of Independence, we at RBK International Academy celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and pride! We all understand that it is of paramount importance to instil the feeling of national pride at an early age. To symbolise their patriotic feelings and show their respect to our freedom fighters who helped to bring us our freedom and our Indian army men who help to keep us free and safe; our EYP kids dressed as one of them and gave some inspiring speeches with confidence and command! We had 'Zansi ki Rani,' Gandhiji, Narendra Modiji, Madam Kama and our brave soldiers amongst us to name just a few. It was heartwarming to see these little ones displaying such finesse in their walk and talk; they showed complete ownership of the roles they were playing. Great Job! Our learners had further enhanced experience of the event when they learned the significance of the tri-coloured Indian flag understanding the importance of each colour and Ashok chakra used in the Indian flag. Their teachers presented an energetic dance performance on the medley of patriotic songs. It was a truly memorable celebration for our EYP kids! - Meenaa Sampat EYP Head

-Riya Dama 17

MYP/DP Reflection …… 17th August 2018 was a day of celebration in RBK, it was Investiture Ceremony Day. On this day few of us (the DP2 students) were promoting the book 'Jal Chalisa' written by Ramesh Goyal in order to spread awareness about the wide spread problem of water scarcity. We explained to parents about the condition of water in today's world and what it would lead to in future if we don't begin to conserve it. We had made two charts which contained quotes related to this issue. We provided parents with a free copy of the book and also asked them to spread the word; telling them that this book is also available online on Water Portal India (Hindi), Yahoo, facebook, Google, Youtube.com/jal Chalisa. It was an event through which we personally learnt a lot about water scarcity and left us in a thought of how we were contributing to the wastage of water. Parents of our RBK generously donated money for this noble cause. By - Simran John & team 19
