Experiential Opportunities
                   Grants and Internships available to students entering Year 11,
                    made possible by St Hilda’s Foundation in partnership with
                  News Corp, the Gold Coast Suns and Triple Eight Race Engineering.

The Rebecca Wilson News Corp Grant is proudly presented by the St Hilda’s Foundation each year to a current
Year 11 student at St Hilda’s School with advanced skills in communications and an interest in journalism.

The St Hilda’s Foundation launched the Rebecca Wilson Grant at its 2017 Business Luncheon, in partnership
with News Corp. This award presents the recipient with the opportunity to complete a 2-week internship at
News Corp, with 1 week during Year 11 and the second week during Year 12. This is an opportunity to gain
valuable experience and assist with the student’s relationship and/or application with News Corp after their
graduation.

The Grant includes financial support over two years to assist the successful
student’s journalistic endeavours with News Corp.

                 sports columnist, broadcaster, trailblazer in
                 Journalism and St Hilda’s alumna.

The Gold Coast Suns Game Day Grant is proudly presented by the St Hilda’s Foundation each year to a
current Year 11 student at St Hilda’s School with an interest in Sports Management, Event Management
or Communications.

The rise of the AFL Women’s (AFLW) has provided a unique opportunity to align with our local AFL Club,
and share the desire to further opportunities for Women in Sport.

Since their inception in 2009, the Suns club and players have committed to more than 45,000 community
volunteering hours with a strong focus on key social projects tackling domestic violence, youth homelessness
and regional needs. The Suns have worked hard to promote the growth of AFL in Queensland, with
participation in junior football, the women’s game and Auskick programs up 82% overall.

This, combined with the development of Metricon Stadium and an average contribution to the local
economy of some $38 million per year, means the the Suns are not only part of the future of Australian
football but also an integral part of the Gold Coast’s story.

This award presents the recipient with the opportunity to complete an internship with the Gold Coast Suns
at the Austworld Centre and Metricon Stadium in the lead up to a Gold Coast Suns home game, for one
week during their Year 11 and Year 12 school holidays.

The Grant includes financial support over two years to assist the successful student’s endeavours with
Gold Coast Suns.

NEW OPPORTUNITY
                                                                                       FOR 2021

                                   Mechanical Engineering
  The Triple Eight Race Engineering Grant is proudly presented by the St Hilda’s Foundation to a current Year
  11 student at St Hilda’s School with an interest in Mechanical Engineering.

  Triple Eight Race Engineering is the most successful motor racing team in Australian history. An engineering
  business with motor racing in its DNA, Triple Eight is the most celebrated team in the Australian Supercars
  Championship and also competes successfully in a range of other motorsport categories.

  Engaging women in this area of is a shared vision for both St Hilda’s and Triple Eight Race Engineering.

  This award presents the recipient with the opportunity to complete a two-week internship with Triple Eight
  Race Engineering at their factory in Banyo near Brisbane Airport, where the team designs, manufactures
  and builds race cars that reach speed of up to 300km/h on circuits around Australia and New Zealand.

  This opportunity will give girls a thrilling insight to engineering, using motorsport as a tool to give first-
  hand, valuable experience of every area of high-precision engineering. The successful candidates will
  have the opportunity to be involved in every area of the engineering, design and manufacturing process
  as the team prepares to do battle on the race track in the midst of the Supercars Championship season.

  The Grant includes financial support over two years to assist the successful student’s endeavours with
  Triple Eight Race Engineering.

   3. Interviews will take place with St Hilda’s School’s Principal and Head of Business, the Chair of the St Hilda’s Foundation,
   and a representative from the associated company.
   4. Successful applicants will be announced in Term 1, 2021.
