Oakfield Park is one of Donegal’s best loved attractions, so what better
place to launch our festival. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy
a stroll through a lush landscape of parklands and mature woodlands
entwined with over 4 km of narrow gauge railway track or take a tour
around the beautiful grounds of the lower park. Take the opportunity
to connect with heritage, stories and nature, meet the Wainfest
team and learn more about what we have in store for you during the
festival. Children can make a wish at Oakfield Park’s Faerie tree, while
navigating their way through adventures on extensive walks and
trails. They will also get the opportunity to meet The Dragonologist
Professor Peartree, and listen to a few tales from Perrin the Elf.

Fab labs provide widespread access to modern
means for invention and creativity.
Comprising off-the-shelf, industrial-grade fabrication tools, wrapped
in open source software, they are increasingly being used as tools for
community engagement. As part of a global network of around 1500
Labs, Spraoi Agus Sport have now established a Fablab in the heart of
Inishowen.
This hands-on workshop will introduce participants to the concept
of making things using digital fabrication technologies. Utilising a
combination of Laser Cutters, Vinyl Cutters, 3D Printers and some
computer design tricks, participants will assemble and personalise
small items that they can take home at the end of the session. Four
SNA’s also in attendance.

Yo-Yo Yoga joins us to bring you accessible, sensory, yoga story time.
This relaxing session is tailored for children of different abilities from 5
years of age and their families, and will weave yoga poses, breathing
techniques, songs and props into the story to bring children on a
beneficial, imaginative journey. The session will be fun, engaging and
playful and will provide families with some breathing techniques to
aid relaxation and regulation. Each participant must be accompanied
by an adult.

Join the Donegal Junior Strings Orchestra for a special concert to
celebrate their ten years of music-making. Their annual visit to the
Glebe Gallery courtyard is always a highlight. They’ve a wonderful
programme lined up for this anniversary concert - classical favourites,
contemporary pieces and music from Disney movies. They’ll have
some guests along, including friends and past members, all under
the direction of the Grammy-nominated Victor Yélamo. Donegal
Junior Strings are one of the performing groups of the Donegal Music
Education Partnership, which offers classical music classes across
Donegal.
No need to book, just come along! This is the opening concert of the
6th Donegal Chamber Music Festival.
