Message from the President WELCOME AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THE 2019 NORTHLAND FIELD DAYS EVENT! The Northland Field Days is the largest Agricultural event held in the Northland region each year and as voluntary organisers of such a fantastic event, as in every year, our dedicated team of volunteers and one staff member are already hard at work in planning and preparing for the 2019 event. With this we rely on you, the Exhibitor, as an essential stakeholder to help us promote New Zealand’s primary and secondary industries. We welcome your feedback and ideas to help improve on each event in the capacity available to us. By partnering together with you, our Exhibitors, we can jointly ensure a great event to entertain and service the rural fraternity as well as cater for our urban visitors so that they can get a taste, learn about and enjoy the rural industry with better understanding in the future. On behalf of the Northland Field Days Committee we look forward to welcoming all Exhibitors and trust that our 35th consecutive event will be a successful and an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. About ‘The Friendly Field Days’ Situated on the corner of Awakino Point East Road and SH14 in Dargaville we host Northland’s largest annual agricultural event to promote and increase public awareness of agriculture products and produce with New Zealand’s primary and secondary industries. Our three day regional event began as a Dargaville Jaycees project in 1985 at the Dargaville Racecourse and now attracts approximately 25,000 visitors and 500 exhibitors from all over New Zealand as well as Australia each year. In 1992 we became a non-profit Incorporated Society and a registered charity run by a voluntary committee with support from one part time employee and a few voluntary associate community members. In 2006 we purchased 33 hectares of land as a permanent home and immediately began developing our property with permanent underground services and roading. Each year, as we can afford, we still endeavour to improve and develop our site and facilities for the comfort of all stakeholders, visitors and usage for other community organisations to host their own events. More permanent toilet blocks, shade, safe pedestrian access and walkways remain high on our priority list. We financially support a large number of community organisations and clubs with fundraising opportunities and/or provide free sites to charitable groups to help them with their existence and goals. We proudly reinvest back into rural Northland with provision of other community funding in the form of grants, scholarships and awards for organisations and individuals to assist and enhance opportunities with educational and research activities associated to the rural sectors. Our mission is “To become the leading Regional Field Days in New Zealand and to host a world class agricultural event each year” Our motto is to remain being “The Friendly Field Days”. 02

Exhibitor Passes EACH PERSON MUST PRESENT A VALID EXHIBITOR PASS EACH DAY to enter the event site. If you do not have your Exhibitor Pass with you, you will be required to purchase a pass to be able to enter the site. The Northland Field Days has two types of Exhibitor Passes that only exhibitors can use - a 1-Day Exhibitor Pass and a 3-Day Exhibitor Pass, this pass cannot be used to get your partners and/or children into the event. The 1-Day Exhibitor Pass will be taken from you at the entrance and the 3-Day Pass will be clipped on the relevant day and given back to you so that you can use it the following day. To avoid more than one person using the 3-Day Exhibitor Pass, it will only be clipped once per day and only on the day that it is presented at the gate. If you have staff that will not be working on site for the full 3 days we recommend that you request all 1-Day Exhibitor Passes or a combination of passes on your registration form. 28th FEBRUARY - 2nd MARCH 2019 28th FEBRUARY - 2nd MARCH 2019 EXHIBITOR 3-DAY PASS EXHIBITOR VISITOR PASS 2019 1-DAY PASS ADMIT ONE ADMIT ONE THURSDAY FRIDAY SATURDAY ADDITIONAL PASSES We appreciate that not all exhibitors know exactly how many staff will be working on site for the event when they register so our Event Administrator will contact all exhibitors prior to sending out the passes (approximately two months prior to the event) to check what type of passes are required and whether you need additional passes. ALL ALLOCATED AND PAID PASSES WILL BE COURIERED WITH YOUR SITE INFORMATION PACK IN LATE JANUARY 2019 AND NORTHLAND FIELD DAYS TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOST, STOLEN OR DAMAGED TICKETS ONCE DELIVERY IS CONFIRMED. 1-DAY VISITOR PASSES This has been specifically designed for exhibitors to be able to supply their invited guests with an entry pass and we have provided a line on the pass so you can personalise it a little with either your business name or your guests’ name on it if you wish. These will be sold to you for $12 each. EXHIBITOR CAR PARK PASS For 2019 we will have two separate areas for Exhibitors to park, one area is straight across the road from the event site and the new area is on the event site. You will receive more information regarding these parking areas closer to the actual event. 28th February - 2nd March 2019 Regardless of which area you park your car in, your vehicle must have the Exhibitor Car NORTHLAND FIELD DAYS Park Pass clearly visible to parking attendents, please hang it over your rear-vision mirror. Outdoor Sites Outdoor sites are those that Exhibitors need to provide their own shelter on (i.e. a marquee, tent or gazebo). Ensure you are prepared for rain and wind as well as sunshine and heat – the weather in Northland can be very unpredictable. To see where the different type of outdoor sites are, take a look at the Type of Sites Map on Page 3 as the sites are colour-coded for ease of identification. The only “half sites” available are those that are on the Site Map, we no longer halve sites by request. These are the type of outdoor sites available: Sites Dimensions (width x depth) Cost Per Site (incl GST) Quantity of 3-Day Passes Included in Site Fee Central Site 14m x 12m* $1050 6 (bright pink on Map, Page 3) 14m x 18m (enough for 6 people on site per day) Full Site 14m x 18m $745-$930 6 (dark blue on Map, Page 3) (enough for 6 people on site per day) Half Site 7m x 18m $440-$560 3 (bright green on Map, Page 3) (enough for 3 people on site per day) * = Sites 217, 219, 221, 223, 229, 231, 233, 235 are a bit smaller (14m x 12m) however the same site fee applies ($1050) NOTE 1: “Central Sites” are very limited in quantity and are subject to approval by the Northland Field Days. Food Vendors There is something about an event like the Northland Field Days that makes people hungry! We try very hard to provide a variety of food that the general public (and our Exhibitors) will enjoy eating and in order for your business to do well at the Field Days you must ensure that your food is fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. We often receive complaints from exhibitors and the general public about some of the prices vendors charge (particularly for bottled water, hot chips, hot dogs and seafood) - we totally understand you need to cover your costs and also make a living but please try and be mindful of not over-pricing your food. Food Vendor sites cost $495 including GST and are available by application only. Applying to be a Food Vendor does not automatically mean that you will be attending. Applications are reviewed and then accepted or declined by the NFD Committee and we will notify you either way of their decision. All Food Vendors must comply with all of the regulations set down by the Kaipara District Council Health Officer and you must provide us with a copy of your Health Regulations Certificate. HELP US TO REDUCE WASTE DURING OUR EVENT!! The Northland Field Days is committed to reducing the amount of non-biodegradable waste going into landfill and we are encouraging all Exhibitors and Food Vendors to be mindful of this. Food Vendors and Exhibitors are required to serve their food using biodegradable and/or recyclable food packaging. The only recyclable grades of plastics that are acceptable to be used at our event are Grades 1 and 2. Please go to our website www.northlandfielddays.co.nz to complete our online Food Vendor Application Form. Click on the “Exhibitor Zone” tab at the top of our homepage and you will see the 2019 Food Vendor Application Form. 08
Site Set-Up The way that you set up your site is incredibly important and you can pretty much do this however you like as long as you follow a few rules that are mainly in the interest of your own and public safety: 1. The Northland Field Days is now part of a local initiative to reduce rubbish and encourage recycling. Please ensure your daily rubbish is put into the appropriate bins at the end of the day and try to use biodegradable and/or Grade 1 or 2 recyclable plastic containers and packaging. This will eventually become a rule at our event so you may as well start practising now! 2. You must keep your entire display strictly within the clearly marked boundaries of your site, this includes any flags, banners or advertising items, ropes and pegs of marquees…. You will be asked by our Security Staff or Northland Field Days delegates to move items back within your boundary if anything is outside of the clearly marked boundaries. 3. No holes are to be drilled into the ground for posts etc until you have received permission from the Northland Field Days and a Committee Member has been to your site to see where the posts are going – this is to ensure that you do not drill into any underground cabling. 4. You must ensure that all rubbish (this includes cardboard/plastic wrappings around freighted items) is secured on your site or put in one of the many rubbish bins available. We try to be flexible and accommodating to all exhibitors at all times and we truly understand the pressure that is on our exhibitors to ensure their sites are set up properly for the event. The Northland Field Days is operated by a Committee of volunteers who generously give their time and skills to be here during the crucial times of site set-up, the event itself and site dismantling - we could not do this event without these volunteers. As most of our volunteers have employment and family commitments outside of the Field Days, we only have a certain period of time for set-up and dismantling. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OUTDOOR SITES – PLEASE READ!! • These sites can be set up from 9am on Friday 15th February 2019 unless prior arrangement made however please be aware that we will not have any forklifts or heavy lifting equipment on site until Friday 22nd February 2019 – if you are arranging items to be delivered to site between 15th February 2019 and 22nd February 2019, ensure the transport company has their own lifting equipment. • All sites must be set up by 7pm on Wednesday, 27th February 2019 • We will only have forklift, telehandler and tractor operators available one week prior to the event from Friday, 22nd February 2019 • No transport companies will be admitted to site before 7.30am or after 5pm during the set up period unless prior arrangement with the Northland Field Days has been made – please ensure you advise them of this when arranging freight. • During set up, our set-up crew do their very best to ensure trucks are unloaded and heavy items deposited on sites as quickly as possible and sometimes there can be a delay, so please be patient. • All exhibitors are required to be off site by 7pm on Wednesday 27th February 2019, this allows the Northland Field Days Committee to complete the grounds set up uninterrupted. FOOD VENDORS All food vendors are to have their sites set up between 8am and 5pm on Wednesday 27th February 2019, we do not want any food vendors turning up on Thursday morning to set up as our ground crew are going to be very busy. Please note that despite the Northland Field Days asking for dimensions of vendors caravans etc to plan the area required in food courts, occasionally we have Food Vendors who arrive and end up requiring a larger space than anticipated which throws the whole planned layout of a Food Court out and people need to be moved around – we ask for your patience during the set up period. 09

Site Dismantling We try and make this as painless as possible, however the end of an event can be an extremely stressful time for many especially when everyone is tired and just wanting to pack up and head home. Every year we have exhibitors packing sites up early and trying to leave the event and this creates a lot of problems – there is absolutely no vehicle movement on the event site during the event (other than Northland Field Days official vehicles) until we make an announcement over the PA System, this is not likely to be until after 5pm on Saturday afternoon. The reason for this is that we are required to ensure the general public can safely leave the event site and are not in danger of being run over by overly-eager exhibitors. We strongly recommend to all exhibitors to close up your sites and come back on Sunday morning to dismantle and pack down. At this stage the Northland Field Days does not plan to bring in the rule (similar to another large Fieldays event) where nothing leaves the site until the Monday after the event ends, however we do see the benefit to all concerned. If you have come a long way from home, please consider booking your accommodation for the Saturday night and come back on Sunday morning to pack down your site – take what you can from your site (especially your valuables), lock it down and go have a nice cool drink and a well-deserved rest for the evening. • If you require the assistance of a forklift or tele-handler to lift items straight after the event, please book in your request as early as possible on Saturday – just come up to the HQ Office and talk to one of our friendly crew. We will have a list and the jobs will not be done in order, they will be done in the most logical way that our operators see fit. We ask for your patience (and definitely a sense of humour) at this time as everyone is tired, tempers are short and our operators will do their very best to work as fast as they can so that exhibitors are not waiting for too long. • Our arrangement with the Security Crew finishes at 9am on Monday, 4th March 2019 however you are more than welcome to make your own security arrangements if you need additional time. It must be made clear now that the Northland Field Days and our Security Crew will not be responsible for anything left on your site when the event finishes on Saturday – there is so much going on with exhibitors packing up and moving out that it is impossible for us to know who is taking what from sites, please take care of your valuable items. • You must have all items removed from your site by Friday, 8th March 2019. We will only have the use of a forklift, telehandler and/or tractor until 10am Friday 8th March 2019 to assist with any heavy items to be loaded onto trucks. The site is then handed back to the person who leases the land. The Northland Field Days committee and staff take a well-earned break and will not be coming in to open up the site after this date – ensure your transport companies are aware of this please. • We ask/beg/plead that you leave your site in the condition in which you found it – that means all items that you brought with you is taken away with you, rubbish is removed and/or put in a rubbish bin and any holes are refilled with DIRT NOT BARK OR SAWDUST – it is just dangerous leaving a hole in the ground or not filling it with the proper material. Should we have to clean up your mess, the charge out rate is $100 per hour. 12

Marketing Your Site These next two Pages could quite possibly the most important Pages for you to read, particularly if you are a new Exhibitor! Here at the Northland Field Days we work very hard to get people to our event, it is your job as an Exhibitor to attract the people to your site. There are many things you can do to that will have people flocking to your site and just to help those creative juices of yours flow, we have thrown together a few ideas that you may want to try... INVITATIONS Who doesn’t feel kind of special when they receive a personalised invitation to attend an event?? A great idea is to invite your existing customers to visit your site at the Northland Field Days! This is an opportunity to have a “catch up” and show off any new products for example. You could make it even more enticing if you were to throw a complimentary day pass in there…. (you can purchase additional passes prior to the event, just contact Meagan at the Office). SOCIAL MEDIA Post your site details and the relevant event information on your website and social media Pages (Facebook, Twitter etc) – maybe run a little competition where your customers can book day passes through you and the 10th pass is complimentary. EYE CATCHING DISPLAYS Eye-catching displays will get attention - there are no two ways about that! We’ve all been told somewhere along the line to “never judge a book by its cover” but an exhibit of your products and/or services WILL be judged by the general public. You don’t have to spend a million dollars on “the look” but you do need to make your site attractive and interesting… try hanging colourful flags or balloons, maybe have interactive things available that people can touch and play around with to see how they work. DON’T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER! Everyone has heard this expression before and it is so true! We have received many comments over the years from visitors who have waited specifically for the Northland Field Days (and they have had plenty of money to spend) that too many Exhibitors have an attitude of “you don’t look like you have money to spend, so you mustn’t have any and I’m not going to bother too much with you”. Don’t make this mistake just because a visitor is not all spruced up in their best suit or dress and waving their bank statement in front of you! Past exhibitors have missed out on big sales at previous events for this very reason... just letting you know... COMPETITIONS OR EVENTS ON SITE As long as you run it past the Northland Field Days prior to the event, you can do pretty much anything on site as long as it’s safe and fun! Maybe ask a celebrity to do a demonstration, we are more than happy to promote these types of events within our Programme (for FREE!!) and via the PA System during the Field Days. If you are interested in running a competition on your site (maybe using your product) and you have the idea and equipment but don’t have the manpower, talk to us as we may be able to set you up with a local community group to assist or even partner with you in some way to make the event really successful. Take the time to think outside the square, try something new and step outside of your comfort zone. FREE Remember this is one of the most powerful words in the English language! Consider investing in an item that you can give away in exchange for contact details or a sale e.g. “Be in to win simply by entering your contact details” (this can be a great way to build up your database and remember everyone is a potential future customer) or “spend $100 and be in the draw to win ….”. Giveaways of product with your contact details can also be a cost effective way of getting your name out there. GENERATE A BUZZ Do you have something new and innovative, a product launch, something that has never been seen before? We can help you. We regularly send out press releases which give potential visitors a reason to visit, and we are more than happy to help promote your “point of difference” where we can. Sending out your own press releases can also generate interest…. Give it a go, you have nothing to lose. 14
Marketing Your Site “GENUINE” NORTHLAND FIELD DAYS SPECIALS! Visitors are always looking for a bargain….. it’s human nature! Perhaps offer time-limited discounts, this could be with a new product to the market or maybe it’s the end of a line or a run out model of something. Consider whether or not this could be sold at a one-off price to generate interest and get that visitor to your site who could possibly be your most valuable future customer. Another way to look at a “genuine” Northland Field Days special is that is can also be an opportunity to reward your current customers with a “never to be repeated sale”. We will be advertising Genuine Northland Field Days Specials on our website for FREE but please note, these specials must be specific to the Northland Field Days event and not just another special that is offered outside of the event. FREE DELIVERY Consider this may be the point of difference for you customers, you could arrange for on farm delivery or for those items that someone wants ‘right now’, but it is too heavy or bulky to carry, we have a service that will deliver any heavier or multiple items (within reason) from your site to your customers car, so advertise this, tell them we can deliver! ADVERTISE YOUR BUSINESS AT THE NORTHLAND FIELD DAYS One of the more obvious options but certainly worth mentioning in this section! Consider who your target market is and how can you get the best bang for your buck from a targeted campaign to get potential customers onto your site and generate income. We have secured some great deals from the local and regional radio networks using the tag line “Northland Field Days – See You There!”. We also encourage you to consider an advertisement in our Northland Field Days Programme to promote your point of difference, any specials, competitions, giveaways etc that you may be doing on site. Check out Page 19 where additional opportunities for you to get your business noticed at our event are outlined. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) We aim to have the event run as smoothly as possible and exhibitors are always asking what we can do to help, so here are the answers to some frequently asked questions: Q. I have some quite bulky and very heavy equipment for display, is there a machine available to off load this on my site? A. Yes we have both a forklift and telehandler for this purpose; there is no charge for this service. You need to book at Headquarters when arriving on-site or call ahead to let us know in advance. We ask that you are patient as there are times where demand is high. Q. I need to be able to receive courier packages whilst the event is on, how can I arrange this? A. The simple answer is yes but you must ensure you have our correct physical address (call Meagan on 09 439 8998 for this) or the courier companies will not deliver your parcel to the event site, it will be dropped off at a depot in Dargaville and you will have to collect it from there. Also ensure the package is addressed to the Company Name that you are exhibiting under. We have a designated area for couriers to drop parcels off to and this is cleared hourly, we will deliver your parcel to your site. Q. How do we access the site and when do we need to have our vehicles off the site? A. The site is open to Exhibitors only from 6.30am. Only exhibitors in vehicles are to come in through the Exhibitor Entrance (further down the road from the Main Entrance) and pedestrians via the main entrance; you will need to have your gate entrance pass (and passes for your passengers) to ensure traffic flows freely. All vehicles need to be off-site by 8.30am. If you still need to get things to your site after this time, we have a free courier service available to help. There is to be NO driving on the site between 9am-4.30pm, the ONLY exception to this is by approved Northland Field Days service vehicles. Access will re-open at approximately 4.30pm (via the Exhibitor Entrance). A map of entry and exit points for exhibitor vehicles will be posted out to you closer to the event. Q. Where do we park? A. There are two car park options for exhibitors – one is in our new On-site Exhibitor Car Park and the other is in the existing Exhibitor Car Park. To park in either area, you must display the appropriate Exhibitor Car Park Pass so it is clearly visible by our parking attendants in your windscreen. NO PASS = NO PARKING IN THE EXHIBITOR CAR PARK, NO EXCEPTIONS. You will receive more information regarding the new On-Site Exhibitor Car Park in due course via email. Q. I would like to park my vehicle next to my site, can I do this? A. The simple answer is no, however if your vehicle is signwritten with your company name/logo and you are able to contain this vehicle WITHIN the clearly defined boundary of your site and you do not move your vehicle between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm, then this is ok. When making this decision we encourage you to consider how your site looks and if this will affect the flow of visitors on and off your site. If your vehicle is not contained within your allocated site, then you will be required to remove it from the grounds immediately. Q. I have an inflatable blimp/balloon that I would like to bring, is there anything that would stop this from happening? A. We would love for you to bring along whatever you need to promote your site/product, it not only livens up your own site but the whole event benefits and as we know being seen (and potentially the place to meet) is what the event is all about. Q. How good is mobile coverage? A. Both Spark and Vodafone have upgraded their systems for the Northland Field Days, so all mobile services are catered for – at times of extremely high usage, reception can be a little patchy but just wait a few moments and try again. 16
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) Q. Is there security on-site? A. Yes, we have 24hr security from 12noon on Sunday prior to the event through to 9am on the Monday following the event. If you require security for times outside those stated please contact our Office. All exhibitors must be off-site during the hours of darkness. Our Security Crew is not liable for any losses or damages to items on your site – please arrange your own insurance. Q. I have my allocated gate entry passes but need more, how do I arrange this? A. If you require more passes, please try to arrange this before the actual event if you can. Contact our office (09 439 8998) to arrange this – any additional passes must be paid for in full before we send them out/hand them over to you. If you need more passes during the event, pop into HQ and you can buy these at reception using eftpos, credit card or cash. Q. Can I hand out flyers to people passing my site or put these on cars in the car park. A. We have no problem with you handing out flyers from your site, but outside of your site we have a policy of no flyers and failure to comply will incur a fine of up to $1,000. Q. I have a self-contained camper (or tent), can I stay on-site? A. We have a paddock allocated as a camping area at the far end of the car park; this is looked after by the Motor Caravan Association Members on our behalf. No exhibitors are allowed onto the event site after the hours of darkness. Q. I may need some photocopying done during the event is there somewhere I can get this done? A. If you have a small amount to be copied, call into our office and we will do this for you for a small charge. Larger amounts can be done by local businesses with delivery to site within a specified time for more info see Page 20. Q. I want to leave early on Saturday, how can I do this? A. The Northland Field Days is a three day event and like the other two days, visitors pay to come and see what is on offer. After much consideration, the Northland Field Days Committee have agreed to end the event at 4pm on Saturday with the gates opening for exhibitor departure only when the majority of the general public have left the site. Just to be clear on this matter, gates will not be open for vehicle access until the Northland Field Days deems it safe for vehicles to be moving around the site. We are bound to abide by an approved Traffic Management Plan by the relevant Authorities which is in the interests of public safety, pedestrians, OSH etc… Q. I am in one of the indoor pavilions and would like to use a microphone to attract people to my site, can I do this? A. Due to the enclosed nature of these sites the answer is no, the collective noise pollution if everyone chose to do this could have a negative effect on visitor numbers to these pavilions. We encourage exhibitors to contact our office as soon as possible if there are any issues with noise, other exhibitors etc and we will do our best to rectify the situation as soon as we can. Q. I often have customers who are unable to carry their purchases to their vehicle due to the bulk or weight, is there any way for me to get help for them? A. Yes, we have a service for exhibitors and their customers, where we can deliver goods to and from your site to make things easier for you during the event. All you need to do is call in at Headquarters or flag down one of the committee in the clearly marked Northland Field Days shirts. Q. I have decided to be an exhibitor, but how do I attract more people to my site? A. This question is asked every year, so this year we have included a few tips on how you could increase the foot traffic to your site on Pages 14 & 15. Q. I would like to look at advertising before the event, are there any rules around this? A. There are no hard rules around advertising before the event, but we do ask that you refer to our event correctly as the “Northland Field Days” not simply “Fieldays” or “Field Days” – those words confuses people as they think you are talking about the Mystery Creek National Fieldays. Each year the newspapers and radio stations come up with some great deals for our exhibitors and as long as you have noted on your registration form that you are happy for us to give your contact information to Third Parties, you will be notified of any advertising deals. We have our own tag line which is “Northland Field Days…. See you there” which you are welcome to use in your advertising for our event as well. If you have a question that is not covered here, please contact Meagan Edmonds (09) 439 8998 or info@northlandfielddays.co.nz 17
Where To Eat In Dargaville there are a number of food outlet such as a couple of pubs, Indian, Chinese, Thai, good ole Fish ‘n’ Chips to name a few so you won’t go hungry! However it would be a good idea to book restaurants in advance during the Northland Field Days. At the Northland Field Days: • You can get a cooked breakfast on site from 7am each day of the event at the main Food Hall which is located at the end of Ford Go Further. • Many of the food vendors that are located in the food courts also try to open up early for exhibitors, so have a wander around Food Court 1 which is between the two Rural Pavilions on Environmental Fertilisers Track or Food Court 2 which is located on the corner of Newlove Road. • There are coffee vendors in all designated food areas. Most Food Vendors are happy to set up accounts for exhibitors, feel free to ask your favourite foodie or Coffee Vendor if they will do this for you. Where To Stay Kauri forests… fresh water lakes… thousands of acres of sand dunes and magnificent coastline… inner and outer harbour… stunning scenery… history. There is so much to experience and enjoy during your stay. If you get the chance to take some time to have a look around our district you will discover plenty to see and do. Consider taking a drive along Ripiro Beach, the longest driveable beach in NZ; only 25 minutes to Kai Iwi Lakes for a nice refreshing swim or closer to the event is our 50m community swimming pool on the main road into Dargaville. Waipoua Forest and Trounsen Kauri Park are “must sees” if you get the opportunity. Dargaville has a long diverse history in maritime and kauri. Both the Dargaville Museum and the Kauri Museum (at Matakohe) are well worth a visit. Many different options are available with accommodation including self-catering, B&B, camping, motels and hotels within Dargaville and also there is the city of Whangarei which is roughly 35-40 minutes away and the best way to find the information is to google Accommodation Whangarei/Dargaville on the internet. You do need to book your accommodation as early as possible! If you are having trouble finding accommodation, give the Dargaville Visitor Information Centre a call on 09 439 4975 and speak to Sue she has a number of accommodation providers listed that aren’t necessarily on the internet. 18
