A Reading of ‘THE MAN WITH THE GOLD’ COURT ROOM Monday 25th November 7.30pm Jan Woolf has developed a full-length centenary play The Man With the Gold, from three readings that have taken place at Newark Civil War Museum, 28 January 2017; St John’s College, Oxford, 23 September 2016 and at the Cockpit Theatre, London, January 2016. Jan Woolf’s new play conjures the person of Lawrence from the grave, giving him the chance to address us directly and debunk the myth industry which conscripted his ghost so lucratively. Join the Drama and Classics Departments for a reading of the play followed by a Q & A with Jan about her experience as writer- in-residence with the Great Arab Revolt archaeological dig in Jordan in 2013, which inspired The Man With the Gold.
