Symphony concerts and collateral projects
Since 1950, the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana has brought to Rimini the most prestigious conductors, soloists and
orchestras of the international music scene, for one of the longest-running cultural events in Italy.
Zubin Mehta, Vladimir Jurowski, Antonio Pappano, Riccardo Muti, Maria João Pires, Lisa Batiashvili are among
the prestigious guests of the billboard of the 73rd Malatesta Music Festival which presents the most prestigious
groups such as the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra, l 'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Berlin
Radio Symphony Orchestra and the London Philharmonia.
Many soloists present in the various sections of the festival that gives space to young talents.
In addition to the symphonic concerts, the program includes the usual sections: Percuotere la Mente, chamber
music and early music concerts, special projects.

the Don Domenico Masi Kindergarten and all those who want to participate.More than 200 extras will retrace the

Seafaring and Shell Museum of Viserbella
The Seafaring and Shell Museum of Viserbella opens for the holidays. It was set up in 1999 for the recovery of the
history and maritime traditions of this small Rimini village.
The Museum preserves documents, artefacts and fishing equipment.
Typical boats, equipment for the different ways of fishing and the tools at the base of the artisan art of the
shipwrights and caulkers are also exhibited here.
Furthermore, the Capici Collection, the most important collection of shells in the Mediterranean, is on display and
a sector is dedicated to the fossils donated by Ivilia Rosa from Turin.
Visitors are welcomed by the traditional Marine Nativity scene, with the Nativity set up on a batana, the typical flat-
bottomed boat.

New Year's opera: La Traviata

Opera by Giuseppe Verdi at the Galli Theater for the longest New Year's in the world
To greet the new year, from the Teatro Galli’s stage, 'La Traviata', an opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi on a
libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, based on the play by Alexandre Dumas (son) "The lady of the camellias",
considered the 'Verdi's most significant and romantic work, forming part of the so-called 'popular' trilogy, together
with Il Trovatore and Rigoletto.
La Traviata come back to Rimini ten years after the previous production organized by the Galli Choir in 2013, to
continue the tradition of staging works chosen among the most loved by the audience as well as of extraordinary
artistic and musical value. The City of Rimini Lyric Choir Amintore Galli Aps is accompanied by the Rimini
Chamber Orchestra conducted by Maestro Stefano Pecci.

Presepe in Darsena: Nativity scene in Rimini tourist harbour

In memory of Stefano Venturini
Also this year, the retailers, committees and associations of San Giuliano Mare in Rimini, propose the event in
memory of Tete Venturini. The Marina di Rimini hosts the event, where a floating nativity scene is set up on the
historic boats of Vele al Terzo Rimini.
Inauguration of the event, Saturday 17 December round 2.30 pm, with lightning and blessing of the nativity scene,
preceded by a scenographic underwater torchlight procession and the arrival of the 'luminous Santa Claus' on jet
skis.
The event ends with the distribution of panettone, sweets, hot chocolate and Santa Claus gifts to children.
In case of bad weather the party is postponed to Sunday 18 December at the same time.
The nativity scene remains on site until January 6, 2023.

Multiethnic representations
Caritas - Migrantes and the main immigrant communities of the diocese of Rimini are promoting the "Exhibition of
nativity scenes from all over the world", an exhibition but also a journey to meet the various immigrant
communities who live in Rimini and who have prepared their nativity scene to be presented to the city. It will be
possible to admire Nativity scenes from Senegal and Nigeria, Peru, Ecuador and Venezuela, but also from China,
Ukraine, Romania and Albania, just to name a few.

Rimini, the world's longest New Year's Eve
The bridge of the Resistance, where it is said that St. Anthony preached to the fish, is decorated throughout the
Christmas period with scallops, a symbol of Christians, decorated with good wishes in different languages, a
multicultural initiative in memory of Davide Farinella.
On the bridge there is a luminous nativity scene created by Salvatore Federici, with illuminated iron shapes. Here
you can admire the Nativity in polychrome wood shaped by the Carlini Shipyard.
The highlight is January 6 with the representation of 'Epiphany on the Bridge', with the naval procession and the
adoration of the Three Kings, along the canal port.
The initiative is curated by the Ponte dei Miracoli Association in collaboration with the Marineria di Rimini
associations.

The Ice village 'with a sea view' rises in the heart of Marina Centro, a stone's throw from the Grand Hotel, near the
fountain of the Four Horses.

Theater Season of prose and dance 2022/2023 - ABC shifts
'Lazarus' is the title of the surprising rock-work conceived and wanted by David Bowie shortly before his death,
written alongside award-winning Irish playwright Enda Walsh, inspired by Walter Tevis' The Man Who Fell to
Earth.
Lazarus, which premiered Off-Broadway at the New York Theater Workshop on December 7, 2015 (Bowie's last
public appearance), offers a sort of sequel to the story of the unhappy interstellar migrant Newton, forced to stay
on Earth.

Urban visions by Davide Frisoni

PERLarte project at the Rimini Conference Center (Palacongressi)
After the exhibition with the works of Luca Giovagnoli and Davide Conti, and of the sixteen students of the
Graphic Design 3 course of the LABA of Rimini (Free Academy of Fine Arts), is Davide Frisoni’s turn to propose
his works in a multipurpose space of Palacongressi, the Convivio space, the area that the Palacongressi of Rimini
has allocated to the PERLarte project, an initiative that adds a further element of knowledge of the territory
through the language of contemporary art and the enhancement of a local artist.
The exhibition by the Rimini artist Davide Frisoni offers international places from which the artist drew inspiration,
as well as of course the city of Rimini, a city dedicated to welcoming and meeting.
The exhibition is available to participants in the congresses scheduled at the Palacongressi in Rimini and by
reservation for citizens and tourists.
On December 16-17-18, Davide Frisoni's exhibition is open to the public with free admission from 4 to 7 pm.

New Year's opera: La Traviata

Opera by Giuseppe Verdi at the Galli Theater for the longest New Year's in the world
To greet the new year, from the Teatro Galli’s stage, 'La Traviata', an opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi on a
libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, based on the play by Alexandre Dumas (son) "The lady of the camellias",
considered the 'Verdi's most significant and romantic work, forming part of the so-called 'popular' trilogy, together
with Il Trovatore and Rigoletto.
La Traviata come back to Rimini ten years after the previous production organized by the Galli Choir in 2013, to
continue the tradition of staging works chosen among the most loved by the audience as well as of extraordinary
artistic and musical value. The City of Rimini Lyric Choir Amintore Galli Aps is accompanied by the Rimini
Chamber Orchestra conducted by Maestro Stefano Pecci.

Contemporary art exhibition at the City Museum
45 works of contemporary art by 36 artists, awarded in 2021 as part of the tender promoted by the Emilia-
Romagna Region to support the visual arts sector hit in the pandemic era, exhibited in Rimini, in the New Wing of
the City Museum.
The works, were selected by a jury made up of accredited experts in the sector (Gloria Bartoli, Walter Guadagnini
and Marco Pierini) with the aim of identifying "the variety of the research that is being developed in the Emilia-
Romagna area, a faithful mirror of the variety that characterizes the contemporary artistic panorama ".
The New Wing of the Museum will also host two extraordinary donations from the Bolognese patron
Francesco Amante, an art enthusiast entrepreneur, who granted to the Region ‘Collection of Paths’ (1995) by
Emil Lukas and to the Municipality of Rimini ‘Terza camera’ (Lettiga) (2007) by Flavio Favelli.
The exhibition is curated by Cristina Ambrosini, Claudia Collina and Giovanni Sassu, with the collaboration of
Alessandro Paolo Lena.

'The hotel of dreams' is born, a museum itinerary that opens the doors of the Grand Hotel of Rimini to discover the
places and stories of a national monument since 1994 and known throughout the world , thanks to Federico
Fellini.
Nine workstations positioned in the hotel's iconic places; the garden,the facade,the hall and the Tonino Guerra
room where stories are told through texts, photographs and short videos.
After an important restoration of the facade and external walls,the Grand Hotel reopens on February 18, 2022 to
present itself with renewed splendor in the new year.

Marecchia parkrun
every Saturday
Timed foot race every Saturday morning
Parkrun organizes timed races of 5 km all around the world, a sport event which is open to everyone.
The run in Rimini is at the Marecchia Park every Saturday morning. Just register on the official website of parkrun
and bring with you a printout of the bar code at every race to get the chronometric detection time. The
participation is free.
The parkrun is entirely organized by volunteers and a refreshment point will be available to runners with coffee,
soft drinks and snacks.
A run together in a green space is fun and it is accessible to all, from beginners to more experienced runners.
