REUNITED IN THE USA: RECONNECTING WITH NATURE ARIEL TWETO TV PERSONALITY, PRODUCER, AND YOUTH ADVOCATE Ariel Tweto is an accomplished private pilot, public speaker, and TV personality who gained worldwide fame following her appearance in the hit reality series Flying Wild Alaska, which follows her family’s life in Alaska. Born and raised in Alaska, she is the president and founding member of Popping Bubbles, a non-profit organization dedicated to suicide prevention and helping people from rural communities overcome the barriers that prevent them from living happy and successful lives. Ariel also starred in Brand USA’s Into Nature’s Wild film, where she took a cross-country journey to some of the most beautiful but little-known landscapes of the United States. MAX LOWE FILMMAKER, PHOTOGRAPHER, AND EXPLORER Max Lowe is a National Geographic Youth Explorer as a storyteller via film and photography. Before he could even walk, Max was packed along on wilderness adventures across the globe. From his home in the mountains, to expeditions across Antarctica, Nepal, and Mongolia, he has been witness to extraordinary moments, wildlife, people and places. It was these experiences that stemmed his drive to traverse this world, and capture moments with his camera. Max also starred in Brand USA’s first giant screen film for IMAX theaters, National Parks Adventure, where he explored the stunning beauty of the National Parks with his friend Rachel Pohl and his step-father Conrad Anker. 4
DAVID GUTTENFELDER PHOTOGRAPHER NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL: A STORY IN PHOTOGRAPHS National Geographic Photography Fellow David Guttenfelder is an award-winning photojournalist focusing on global geopolitics and conservation. He spent 20 years as a photojournalist for the Associated Press, during which he was based in Nairobi, Abidjan, New Delhi, Jerusalem, and Tokyo, covering news in more than 75 countries around the world. David has photographed multiple stories for National Geographic magazine, including topics as diverse as migratory songbirds in North Africa, the damming of the Mekong River, hidden North Korea, and the greater Yellowstone ecosystem. David is an eight-time World Press Photo Award winner, 2013 ICP Infinity Prize winner for photojournalism, and a seven-time finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in breaking news and feature photography. Additionally, David has been an industry leader in smartphone photography and social media, with a growing number of Instagram followers reaching over 1.1 million. His mobile phone photography has been featured in publications including “National Geographic”, “Wired”, “The New York Times Magazine” and “TIME”. David has taught photography workshops, National Geographic Photo Camp (a program that uses photography to help young adults and children in underserved communities around the world to develop their own voices and tell their stories), and lectured on smartphone photography, including speaking on a panel about “Instagramming the News” at the 2014 SXSW digital conference. 5
HOW WELLNESS TOURISM IS SHAPING THE FUTURE OF TRAVEL ANDREW GIBSON CHAIRMAN THE WELLNESS TOURISM ASSOCIATION Andrew is the chairman of The Wellness Tourism Association, and has been a key player in the senior management teams that have created iconic spa and wellness brands including Six Senses, Mandarin Oriental, Raffles, Fairmont, Pullman, Sofitel, MGallery, and Sensei. Over the last 30 years, Andrew has created global brands, managed multiple brands for large corporations as well as providing guidance to world leaders, startup companies, and university students. As a true global citizen, Andrew has lived in the United States, Middle East, Asia, and Europe and has been a prominent figure through voluntary work in associations on every continent and in advisory positions at universities. Andrew is a globally recognized expert in the area of wellness and is one of the founding members and advisory board directors of Global Wellness Summit and Global Wellness Institute and a long-time serving judge of the World Spa and Wellness Awards. 6
EPIC TRIPS: EXPLORING UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES IN THE USA ADAM ARMSTRONG CONTIKI HOLIDAYS GLOBAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Adam is the chief executive officer for Contiki Holidays, a tour company which offers more than 350 global trips and provides travellers with bespoke travel experiences. In this role, Adam is responsible for driving growth in the youth travel brand and innovation in the generation Z and millennial markets. Prior to this position, Adam was senior vice president and managing director of Silversea Cruises in Asia-Pacific, and was formerly at the helm of Royal Caribbean Cruises as associate vice president and managing director, Australia and New Zealand. With 20 years experience in the travel industry, Adam boasts a truly diverse breadth of knowledge. ANJALI AGARWAL CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER AUTOCAMP Anjali is the chief operating officer for AutoCamp, which offers accommodations in modern Airstream suites and luxurious tents in various locations across the United States. She oversees the company’s growth and expansion of high-end, boutique-style amenities and welcoming hospitality to some of the world’s most beautiful natural places, including Joshua Tree National Park which is slated to open in fall 2021. Prior to her position at AutoCamp, Anjali was principal and executive vice president of Asset Management at Chartres Lodging, where she was responsible for running the group’s $2.2 billion portfolio of assets. During this time, she participated in $2.8 billion of transaction activity, the planning and execution of $1.0 billion in renovations, and the launch of the group’s Hotel Management company. Further to this, Anjali’s operations experience spans multiple brands (Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Marriott International, Inc, and Taj Hotels) and countries, including participating in the expansion of Marriott International into India. In recognition of her successful track record, she was awarded the top “40 Under 40” by M&A Advisor in 2013. 7
KRISTI BRAY PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST RECREATION.GOV Kristi Bray, public affairs specialist for the Recreation One-Stop strategic communications team and leads internal communications while supporting a variety of communication needs across the Recreation.gov platform. Kristi’s U.S. Forest Service career began as a visitor center information specialist, wilderness ranger, and writer/editor. She has spent most of her 20 year career with the Forest Service as a natural resource specialist working in recreation, and now in communications and outreach. Previously, Kristi worked in the ski industry in marketing and communications. Kristi enjoys spending time outdoors – trail running, mountain biking, paddle boarding, and hiking with her dog. Other interests include art (as an observer and painter), travel, and soaking up the sun on the beautiful beaches of Lake Tahoe where she resides with her family. 8
TRAVEL LIKE A LOCAL: AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCES IN TOWNS AND CITIES ACROSS THE USA ASHLEY DAVIDSON FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR CITIZEN CREATIVE Ashley Davidson, founder and creative director of Citizen, has nearly two decades of experience in design and content creation. After building her career in Milan and New York City, Ashley founded Citizen and the company is now headquartered in Detroit. Through their work, Ashley and the Citizen team continue to shine the spotlight on the local people and places which bring communities together. Ashley believes that inspiring audiences through heartfelt stories and communal spaces can build long- term goodwill and customer loyalty. Her work has been honored at the Cannes Lions Festival, as well as the Effie, Clio, and Webby Awards and numerous film festivals. She also co-founded and serves on the board of The Broad Exchange, a global professional organization dedicated to advancing the interests of women in the creative fields, which is now more than 4,000 members strong. 9
