EVENT OVERVIEW Welcome to the Publix Fort Lauderdale A1A Marathon & Half Marathon ! Our event is the ultimate winter destination event. While the rest of the country is dealing with the winter, we enjoy sunny weather in the mid 70s! The course features miles of unobstructed ocean views. We run along State Road A1A, hence the name of our event. In addition to our renowned beachfront course we are also know for our signature finisher medals. In fact, our 2010 medal was voted best in North America, while our 2011 medal received a #3 vote. Each year we offer a unique beach themed design. The 2021 medal will feature a beautiful dolphin in theme with valentine's day and a heart. We invite every runner and walker to join us annually on President's Weekend for the Fort Lauderdale A1A Marathon & Half Marathon....Where the Ocean is Your Finish Line!! . 1
Re v i s e d 2 0 2 1 S t a r t A r e a The 2021 Marathon & Half Marathon will Start & Finish from The Beach Parking Lot If you are a veteran of the Publix FTL A1A Marathon & Half Marathon, you are familiar with our signature Finish on Fort Lauderdale Beach. For 2021, we have redesigned the Marathon & Half Marathon course to Start & Finish from the Beach Parking Lot location This was done primarily for Safety measures to remove the need for Shuttle Buses to and from the Start/Finish. A Staggered and Distanced Start will be employed for everyone’s Safety. The Parking Lot will be used to spread everyone out in a long and distanced Line. For Reference, the link below will take you to a map of the Start. The Green Circle at the top of the map signifies the end of the Line of participants. Runners will be lining up along the red line, gradually moving their way towards the Red Circle, which is the Start. 20 runners at a time will line up distanced in the Start Corral and sent off every 10 seconds. We hope to have all participants out of the Start area by 6:45am. ** Click here to View the Start Map: https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/3853153465 2

The 2021 Marathon & Half Marathon event will be restricted to 50% of normal race capacity at 3,500 participants. The Start will feature small “waves” of 20 distanced runners at a time.
