CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS Send us your contribution before 12 June 2020 The CO2, industry and regions day is jointly organised by: • Littoral Hauts de France chamber of • Port of Dunkirk commerce and industry (Grand Port Maritime de Dunkerque) • Urban Community of Dunkirk • ArcelorMittal (Communauté urbaine de Dunkerque) • Alvance Aluminium Dunkerque • The Hauts-de-France region • Comilog Dunkerque • Mission REV 3 • Ferroglobe Manganèse France • The French Environment and Energy • Eqiom Management Agency (ADEME) The aforementioned held the first “CO2, industry and regions day” on 10 July 2019 on the basis of an observation: our response to tackling climate change, preserving the environment and maintaining a competitive industrial fabric that provides jobs can only emerge out of multi-stakeholder discussions that take place on a local level. On this occasion, a public manifesto, put forward by several industrial firms and institutions, proposed, without calling into question existing carbon quotas, that the associated credits could be redirected as a matter of priority to the innovative projects of industrial firms that contribute to carbon neutrality as well as to the regions that host these projects. Following the success of this first conference, the organisers would like to give a European dimension to this event by bringing together on 8 October 2020 representatives from European industrial regions, national, European and international bodies responsible for industrial transition, site managers, solution providers, higher- education institutions and researchers around six main areas: • the procurement of carbon-free raw materials and energy sources, • decarbonisation and process efficiency, • innovative carbon capture, use and storage solutions, • integrated regional experiments (regional industrial ecology), • carbon regulations and taxation, • innovation support schemes. The European CO2 conference programme is based on a call for contribu- tions: plenaries, thematic workshops, debates, etc. An event on the initiative of:
