He then joined the CRO branch of CRL close to Lyon, and later Bayer CropScience near to Nice, France. Since 2003 he works for Janssen Pharmaceutica in Beerse, Belgium. Throughout his career he was interested in special stains (especially immunohistochem- istry, immunofluorescence and electron microscopy) and special techniques, and in mentor- ing young colleagues undergoing their veterinary pathology residency. He currently leads the digital pathology efforts in the pathology department, for both the infrastructure/platform and the scientific applications; he also liaises with IT (for optimizing platform design) and other scientific departments/therapeutic areas (for synergy in bringing tools on the platform). He is also a strong advocate of cooperation among international toxicologic pathology societies and is very involved in the interaction with regulatory bodies. He is a former presi- dent of the French Society of Toxicologic Pathology and an active member of the European and North American STP.
