Just as New York is a destination city for the United Nations, for world class museums, cuisine and
entertainment, it is also the home of several well know academic institutions some of which have
contributed greatly to the implant field. Times Square and the Marriott Marquis Hotel are at the center
of the city and are preparing for your arrival for ICOI World Congress XXXVII and perhaps longer. Family,
staff and colleagues are welcome.
As the field has grown exponentially so has the charge of the ICOI to produce unity, up to date
scientifically based knowledge and enduring friendships.
Our program has several parts. The 3-day ICOI World Congress XXXVII will kick-off on Thursday
morning with several pre-congress half-day lectures and hands-on workshops. This will be followed by
our popular “Young Implantologist’s Program”, which will include a wide array of pertinent topics for all
practitioners and auxiliary team members. On Thursday evening, the Welcome Reception will be a time
to network with colleagues as well as attend poster presentations and table clinics with valuable new
concepts in the field of oral implantology.
Our main podium scientific session lectures will begin on Friday morning with an international line-up
of fantastic speakers. These scientific sessions will offer the attendee the latest scientific information on
important topics that may be immediately incorporated into clinical practice. Additionally, there will be
a multi-day ADIA program for your auxiliary team members, complete with certification.
The impact of implants upon everyday dentistry has been unprecedented.
We must explore what matters today and even in the future. We look
forward to seeing you and your team in New York.

       Sincerely,

Dr. Kenneth Judy, Scientific Program Chairman

Bone Graft Cements: A Turning Point in the Augmentation Field
Conventional grafting procedures require skillfulness besides experience, and even so are still
cumbersome, time consuming, with prolong healing period and limited amount of vital bone as a result.
While in addition to the above, the surgical techniques involved with those grafting materials necessitate
tension free, primary closure, membrane coverage, additives etc. all of which force us to perform more
invasive and intrusive surgical procedures.
In the last few years a genuine and significant change takes place owing to the development of the
patented biphasic calcium sulfate Bone cements. The exponential dissemination of this new disruptive
revolutionary concept is challenging the status quo that contribute noticeably to any clinician who got
trained and implemented the system in his practice, benefiting significantly him and his patients as well.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, attendees will understand:
• Rationale for bone grafting procedures and graft selection
• Basic criteria and techniques to obtain and enhance the volume and predictability of bone formation
  in the grafted site
• Scientific Rationales, and practical ways to incorporate bone graft cements in our daily practice
• Surgical protocols and techniques for using bone graft cements in a diversity of indications

Surgical and Prosthetic Considerations for the Full-Arch Zirconia Prosthesis
Full arch implant supported prostheses have become very popular with well-documented high success
rates. However, some controversy remains regarding the number and position of implants as well as
the type of restorative material. This course will review various literature-based treatment options for
the surgical and prosthetic rehabilitation of the edentulous arch. A detailed step-by-step protocol will
be discussed with emphasis on the surgical and prosthetic considerations for the full-arch monolithic
zirconia prosthesis.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, attendees will:
• Understand the various treatment options for the full-arch implant fixed prostheses
• Learn surgical protocols involved immediate and delated treatment
• Understand the benefits of monolithic zirconia prostheses

Immediate Loading and Implant Placement - From Biology to the Final
Prosthodontics
In immediate loading, the survival rate is often based on the follow-up of the osseointegration, but
without aesthetic appreciation. The main goal is to achieve osseointegration and aesthetics with long-
term stability. For this success we need to obtain both, bone formation and gum thickness, as any failure
in one of the two factors will induce the loss in the second factor. Several requirements have to be
reached in order to obtain and maintain them together for a very long time:
• Biological requirements are linked to the early vascularization (appreciation of the biologic level,
  growth factors, collagen environment).
• Anatomical & Surgical requirements will help to identify the best implant placement and positioning
(Fast Guide system, sub-crestal insertion, platform switching, etc…).
• Prosthetic requirements are essential for aesthetic as guidance for soft tissue design (rigid and
  screwed provisional prosthesis).

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, attendees will:
• Learn how to ideally position implants (biology, approach, material, surgery)
• Identify the limits and indications of immediate loading
• Ensure a sustainable and aesthetic treatment with immediate loading

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) and Guided Bone Regeneration for Everyday Dentistry
The objective of this course is to understand how the growth factors are produced and activated to
improve bio-compatibility in procedures like GBR (Guided Bone Regeneration), soft tissue management
and socket preservation. There is scientific evidence to demonstrate that the growth factors are released
by platelets and white blood cells. Tooth extraction techniques have been undergoing modification for
the longest time. Several surgical techniques have been proposed by clinicians to preserve the socket
during extraction. This course is designed to give you an overview of some of the most common and
predictable techniques available for general and implant dentists.

ADIA Certification Courses
Please Choose One Program.
Programs are conducted simultaneously in 4 different rooms.

Saturday, August 17, 2019 | 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
ADIA DENTAL HYGIENE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (DHCP)© Edie Gibson
Registered dental hygienists are at the forefront of long term implant success. As healthcare professionals, they are
an integral part of the dental implant team providing indispensable oral hygiene therapy, educating patients and
implementing clinical protocols. The DHCP provides evidence based training in co-diagnosis, treatment planning
and patient assessment. The program will provide attendees with the most current protocols for assessing clinical
parameters and techniques for the long-term maintenance and success of dental implants. The different types of
implant restorations and the elaboration of patient specific hygiene protocols will also be discussed. Completion of
the DHCP will provide the attendees with the knowledge and confidence to provide their patients with the ultimate
care in implant maintenance.

ADIA DENTAL ASSISTING CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (DACP)© Vavi Bohbot
Implant dentistry often involves long and complex procedures which sometimes create anxiety for patients. An
effective implant assistant must not only set up for the procedure but also monitors the doctor’s and the patient’s
needs throughout the procedure. A well-trained dental implant assistant is crucial to the smooth operation of the
implant procedure and also ensures the patient’s comfort and well-being. The DACP provides an in-depth education
in surgical and prosthetic procedures, armamentarium, infection control, biologics and laboratory procedures.
Completion of the DACP will empower attendees with the knowledge and confidence to be an indispensable
member of the dental implant team and provide their doctors and patients with the ultimate implant experience.

ADIA PRACTICE MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (PMCP)© Leslie Icenogle
The smooth operation of a dental implant practice requires a strong and organized leader.
A well-trained and educated practice manager is essential to the health and growth of a practice. The practice
manager oversees the daily operation of the practice and must also lead the practice in a direction that will increase
profitability and reduce stress. The PMCP will review and discuss creating an office culture, effective communication,
conflict resolution, internal and external marketing, tracking productivity and profitability as well as scheduling
protocols. Completion of the PMCP will empower attendees with the knowledge and confidence as well as the
techniques and protocols to successfully create a cohesive happy team, oversee a practice and assure its continued
stress-free operation and growth.

ADIA IMPLANT COORDINATOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (ICCP)© Karen Young
Dental implants are one of the most successful treatment modalities in dentistry and the demand for dental
implants is growing exponentially. In order to successfully grow an implant practice however, a well-trained implant
coordinator is indispensable. Once the doctor has diagnosed and treatment planned the patient, the implant
coordinator holds the patient’s hand through the entire dental implant process acting as their advocate. The implant
coordinator will educate the patient, explain in detail every step of the procedures, review and complete all consent
forms and financial arrangements and oversee the case to completion. The ICCP provides an in-depth education
in surgical and prosthetic procedures, case presentation, communication skills and the oversight of all phases of an
evolving implant case. Completion of the ICCP will empower attendees with the knowledge and confidence to
provide their patients with the ultimate implant care while successfully growing an implant practice.

TABLETOP AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Thursday, August 15, 2019 | 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
You don’t have to be a Main Podium speaker to participate in our congress. Why not plan to present
a Tabletop and/or Poster presentation? A “proven training ground” for future and current Main
Podium speakers, the very popular Tabletop and Poster competition will be held in tandem with
our Welcome Reception in the Exhibit Hall on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. It allows presenters
to interact with colleagues in a social, yet instructive manner. Tabletop and Poster presentations
should display a challenging case or concept in a limited time format, i.e. 5-7 minutes, so that the
case can be repeated as new observers gather. Poster presentations will be placed (tacked or taped)
on boards at the beginning of the congress and will remain on display throughout the congress.
Poster presenters should be at their posters to answer inquiries during the Welcome Reception. All
presentations will be judged, with the winners receiving awards and main podium consideration for
future ICOI meetings. .
REMEMBER, ALL FELLOWS, MASTERS AND DIPLOMATES WHO CONDUCT TABLETOP OR
POSTER PRESENTATIONS HELP FULFILL THEIR FIVE-YEAR MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS.
Parties interested in conducting a Tabletop and/or Poster presentation must contact the Chair for
this competition, Dr. Avi Schetritt, to request an application.
Completed applications must be submitted by July 12, 2019.
