This discipline is designed to test a rider’s horsemanship skills and the willingness of the horse or pony to negotiate an obstacle course. Skills tests may include, among others, opening a gate, reining back or passing through coloured obstacles. It is not a race - the focus is on how the rider completes the tasks. The judges will be looking for rhythm, calmness and straightness, similar to a dressage test with obstacles.
