From the Director’s Chair 2020 has been quite a year. On behalf of all of us at Ellsworth Adult Education, I send wishes of good health and prosperity during these difficult times. While there have been many challenges, we have also discovered some silver linings. We hope the same is true for you! Our programming this Fall is designed to support our neighbors in reaching their potential. Our workforce train- ing and technology offerings have expanded; we have a sampling of enrichment offerings, all of which are online to ensure the safety of our community; and, we’re already working on a robust enrichment program for the Winter & Spring of 2021 when we hope we will all be turning over a new leaf. Our big news is that we have moved to the front of the Mill Mall. We hope to have a building sign up soon so we’ll be easy to find. For those who remember the jewelry store--that’s where we are. This year, our facility will be under construction, so only our academic programming will happen on site. When you do come to the site, you’ll find that we are following all of the Maine CDC guidance so handwashing, masks and social distancing are required. Like all the other school department facili- ties, our doors will be locked. When you come to the door, we will greet you and ask you some COVID related questions. During this time only students, staff and support people are permitted in the facility. Thanks for your understanding while we work with the community to keep Ellsworth safe. - Annie Sargent, Director ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING This program assists adults who are not native English speakers to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, with online and face to face options.
