COOLANGATTA Located at the southern end of the Gold Coast on the border of NSW, our Coolangatta location provides a peaceful learning environment. Centrally located, we are close to beaches, cafes and shops. COOMERA TAFE Queensland Gold Coast’s creative hub at Coomera is the quintessential home for creators, innovators, entertainers and movie makers. This $26 million state-of-the-art facility offers the best possible creative learning experience in the region. Nestled amongst natural bushland for the ultimate creative backdrop, this location provides specialist delivery across certificate, diploma and bachelor qualifications, supported by state-of-the-art technologies such as computer labs including MAC and PC, drawing rooms, sound recording and music rehearsal studios, digital video and editing suites and 3D motion capture and production control facilities. There is also a black box theatre, auditorium and independent learning centre. COOMERA MARINE Located in the heart of the marine industry at Coomera, our specialised training facility is based on-site with the Gold Coast’s largest boat building employer, Riviera. Our facility boasts two levels of industry style workshop and specialised learning spaces to offer you the best of both worlds in practical and theory based training experiences. Fees and funding options VET STUDENT LOANS The Australian Government has reviewed the VET FEE-HELP scheme. A new program called VET Student Loans will commence from 1 January 2017. Partnerships Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) TAFE Queensland Gold Coast has long standing partnerships with funding bodies including Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ). CSQ offer financial and professional support to the Queensland building and construction industry. If you are currently working in the Queensland building and construction industry you may be eligible for Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funded training to advance or expand your skills with a CSQ listed program. TAFE Queensland Gold Coast and CSQ offer 4 different types of funding: 1 HIGHER LEVEL SKILLS: Certificate IV and diploma level training for people looking to take their career to the next level. 2 SKILL ASSESSMENT AND GAP TRAINING (SAGT): Recognition of prior learning and gap training for people already working in the construction industry. 3 SHORT COURSES: Perfect for people looking to learn new and important skills. TRADE START PROGRAM: This program provides job ready skills through an entry level 4 qualification. Suited to people with no previous building or construction experience, including school leavers or those working in a different industry. SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy students had the opportunity to help transform actors into ghouls, zombies and other beings of supernatural dread for Movie World’s Fright Night event. Using special effect make-up techniques, the students create various creepy looks from decomposing zombies and bloodsucking vampires to characters from horror films such as Dusk to Dawn, The Conjuring 2, Friday the 13th and Wyrmwood. “ I want to work my way into the movie industry ” and do special effects. Design, IT, Media and Gaming MELISSA BERGEN MSF50213 DIPLOMA OF INTERIOR DESIGN AND DECORATION In 2016 TAFE Queensland Gold Coast Interior Design student Melissa Bergen revealed her VIP Gallery at the NightQuarter market, Helensvale. Ms Bergen designed the VIP space which features street art, wine barrel bar tables, recycled daybeds, AstroTurf, vertical gardens and industrial style lighting. The competition was open to TAFE Gold Coast students and is the first time Ms Bergen’s designs have been used outside in a public space. The VIP space includes two dining rooms, daybeds and a private bar and can host 100 guests. Melissa spent 30 hours dreaming up the space, inspired by a trip abroad. “ I’ve been travelling a bit lately and really loved London, the 28-year-old said. Nursing SARAH CONNORS AND BETH DICKSON HLT54115 DIPLOMA OF NURSING Year 12 students Sarah Connors and Beth Dickson are well on her way to a rewarding health career.
