Education Department CPD Training Summer 2021 Services to support the distinctive needs of Church of England Schools and Academies Welcome from the Director of Education 1
Welcome from the Director of Education Dear Colleagues, Thank you for such a positive engagement with our CPD and services during the Autumn Term, many of which we offered free of charge. As we move into 2021, we want to continue to support you by ensuring that our core training and development will be fully accessible, remaining online as our main method of delivery. Though we are unable to continue our free offer we will be doing all that we can to offer the training at reduced cost throughout Spring, and hopefully Summer. Other CPD opportunities too, such as conferences and bespoke training, can be arranged directly through our teams here. As ever we do need to hear what you want and expect from us so we can consistently deliver to you relevant, high quality support. Let us continue to support one another as we adapt to the current context and constant change, always learning together. Let us continue to encourage each other as we face challenges and enjoy successes, in the confidence that we do not walk alone, we are together. We are family and, in our family, we care for one another. I look forward, along with all of the great team here at Wells, to meeting you at our training and development events throughout the start of 2021. Ed Gregory Director of Education 2
Online Training webinars As part of our online CPD offer to schools, this term we will be hosting a series of webinars covering all topics. These are all listed in this brochure and are all bookable online. You can access further information, the online event listings and booking forms on the diocesan website here: https://www.bathandwells.org.uk/supporting-children/education-training-events/ Online Forums As a result of our online training sessions, the idea of holding forums came about as an opportunity to share best practice. We have started forums for Chairs of governors, Clerks to governor bodies and, starting in the spring term, for Foundation governors. At a time when our communication, including our meetings are, virtual, and those meetings lack the opportunities for networking and socialising that is such a usual part of attending training and briefings, we felt these forums would be welcome. Our intention is to facilitate discussion on key governance issues, and to enable the sharing of best practice. We anticipate we will hold this three times a year but will be guided by the views of the prospective attendees. Online Training videos As part of our CPD offer to schools, we have created a series of online training videos designed to introduce a subject. These are all free to access and can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvYduF4WrcIDiIddOcHPE5YLObAKaA7RB Bespoke Training We can offer bespoke training for schools on a variety of topics including Well Being, Ethos and Ethos Committees, Vision & Values, SIAMS, Governance, Bereavement, Spirituality, Worship, Admissions, Collective Worship, Leadership Development, Vision & Values in a Mixed MAT, RE and Academy Conversion. The cost depends on the location and the number of people in the group being trained. These sessions can take place in school or in another venue or by Zoom. To find out more including costs or if you have any queries about the videos, webinars or booking please contact: jan.chandler@bathwells.anglican.org 3
