BUSINESS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OUR SERVICE Thornton Start Up Grant PARTNERS Thornton City Council is proud to announce Thornton’s newest business grant program. The Thornton Start Up Grant is offered through the Thornton Economic Development Office and the Alliance Business Assistance Center. Starting in September 2021, the new grant will reimburse small business owners up to $10,000 for costs associated with move-in costs, permits and regulatory costs, commercial building improvements, signage, equipment purchases and more. “The Thornton Start Up Grant is designed to give businesses the choice of locating anywhere in the city of Thornton” says Small Business Manager, Robin Martinez. “Although businesses can receive a higher incentive if they choose to locate in South Thornton and utilize the South Thornton Attraction and Revitalization (STAR) grant, this new grant will provide more location flexibility while still offering financial benefits for unique, locally- owned businesses.” The Alliance Business Assistance Center will begin accepting applications September 2021. Businesses will be required to submit a completed application and business plan (if in operation less than 2 years) or strategic plan (if in operation more than 2 years), which will be reviewed by a grant application review committee for final determination of award and amount. For a full list of program guidelines and information, visit www.businessinthornton.com or call the Alliance Business Assistance Center at 720.674.3547. The ABAC is open Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm.
