Backg ound In 2015, the U.S.- EU Bilate al Ove sight Boa d (BOB) di ected Ce tification Ove sight Boa d (COB) to develop Validation Imp ovement Roadmap (VIR) Objective: By 2022, educe validation effo t (time and costs) to a level of 20% compa ed to fi st TIP implementation in 2011 COB developed VIR in sync with the CMT objectives COB VIR app oved on 29 Feb ua y 2016 COB will annually eview VIR implementation and adjust as necessa y VIR issue 3 signed on 24 August 2018 3
COB VIR Visions and Objectives Optimize implementation of the BASA by enhancing acceptance of ce tificating autho ity (CA) approvals and findings of compliance Objective, unde a isk-based app oach, is to maximize acceptance by the validating autho ity (VA), without any technical assessment o issuance of a validation app oval VIR applies isk-based validation p inciples to educe level of technical involvement in validation 4
