Self-guided Thanks for your interest in our NEW self-guided programme for school groups. We want to offer schools a flexible programme of activities that suit your needs first with a focus on outdoor learning. Our previous facilitated learning programme is no longer available as we explore new ways to welcome educational visits for 2021-22. Due to coronavirus restrictions, we cannot currently offer the use of any indoor space for groups to use throughout the day, however you are welcome to use the picnic area in the North Park which is open to all visitors. Your booking Self-guided education groups must book at least two weeks ahead and pay in one transaction (we currently accept card, cash, cheque payments). Payment should either be made on arrival or please make a request for an invoice on the booking form. Pricing Education Group Membership (EGM) go free, but must provide a valid EGM membership number on booking. For Non-EGM groups, the cost of entry per pupil is £4. Teachers and support staff go free. The entry fee covers the cost of entry to the Car Park, Gardens, Parkland and access to the resource pack on confirmation of your booking. Pre-visit We highly recommend group leaders carry out a pre-visit to familiarise yourself with the site, and effectively plan your visit. This may include looking at areas where you can congregate as a group whilst maintaining your class bubble and any social distancing requirements. From this you should complete a relevant COVID-secure risk assessment, and ensure that clearance for your visit has been sought from any relevant authority. Please also ensure that you follow any government guidelines relevant to your location at the time of booking and visit date.
Activities On confirmation of your booking you will received a more detailed activity plan for your visit. Getting here and parking Groups must arrive between 9—10am or between 11.30am—1pm to comply with peak arrival times. If arriving by coach, please approach the property via the A56 due to low bridge in opposite direction. On arrival at the entrance gates, please follow the one way system to the car park kiosk for check in and payment with our car park team who will signpost you to the coach parking bays. The coach can remain here for the duration of your visit. A complimentary tea/coffee voucher will be available to the driver. Please let your group board the coach at the parking bay at the end of your visit. Accessibility We have a number of mobility scooters and manual wheelchairs available at no cost. Severe Weather Due to the risk posed by trees within the park and garden when the wind gust speed is predicted to reach 35mph, access to certain areas will be restricted. If the wind gust speed is predicted to reach 50mph, Dunham Massy will close. In this event your group will be contacted on the morning of your visit.
Phone reception and emergency procedures Mobile phone reception across Dunham Massey varies between networks. In an emergency, during property opening hours, call 0161 941 1025 for assistance from onsite staff. Volunteers and staff are contactable during opening hours communicating with each other via radio. Lunch Due to coronavirus restrictions, we cannot currently offer the use of any indoor space for groups for use through out the day, however you are welcome to use the picnic area in the North Park or in the Garden which are open to all visitors. Coronavirus and education bookings Throughout the pandemic we have followed all government guidance. This has included limiting visitor numbers, additional sanitising routines, encouraging all to observe 2m distancing and the wearing of face coverings indoors to keep everyone safe. Due to current coronavirus restrictions, we are not able to confirm group bookings but will take provisional bookings from 17 May 2021 onwards. We will confirm the booking with you once government guidance and National Trust policy allows. Please note: there may be restrictions around numbers of people who can visit as one group depending on government guidance. How to book 1. Check availability for your chosen date and group time by emailing: dunhamgroupbookings@nationaltrust.org.uk 2. A provisional group booking will be made and a booking form sent to you. 3. Please complete and return a copy of the booking form at your earliest convenience. 4. We will confirm your booking ahead of your visit via an email/letter.
