WEEKEND BOOKLET A-DAY 2022 April 22, 23, & 24 BACK & bETTER TOGETHER DELAWARE VALLEY UNIVERSITY 700 East Butler Ave. Doylestown, PA 18901 delval.edu/aday | 215.489.2329
About A-Day A-Day brings the campus community and our neighbors throughout Bucks County and the region together for educational exhibits, entertainment, great food, activities for kids and fun for all! The first A-Day was held May 21, 1949 on the campus of the National Agricultural College. At that time, A-Day was a single day when the students of the college worked together to showcase various agricultural displays and exhibits. Today the tradition continues with the hard work and dedication of the students of Delaware Valley University. The entire event is planned and implemented by the students with minimal guidance from the university’s staff, faculty, and administration. Student-run exhibits and demonstrations involve a variety of majors from the University and reflect experiential learning. Additionally, since 2004 A-Day has been part of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs. Members of the university and local community are invited to enter their food items, artwork, or handicrafts for judging in the fair. Come and listen to great entertainment while making memories that will last a lifetime! About Delaware Valley University Delaware Valley University (DelVal) is a private, comprehensive, non-profit university educating students with a curriculum that emphasizes and requires experiential learning. As part of the A-Day tradition, agriculture industry leaders, Lancaster Farming, the leading Northeast and Mid-Atlantic farm newspaper; Hoober International, an agricultural equipment dealer with nine locations in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia; and The Steinman Foundation, one of the largest charitable organizations in Lancaster County, will award scholarships to deserving DelVal students. These scholarships provide financial assistance to students studying agriculture and environmental sciences. They represent the mutual passion and commitment shared by these industry leaders to higher education and to strengthening the agriculture industry. With this scholarship support, DelVal students will continue studying modern agricultural practices while developing critical thinking skills that enable them to confidently step into careers in this growing and vital industry.
The A Day Endowed Scholarship was established in 1991 by the A-Day student leadership committee under the guidance of Joseph Fulcoly, Jr. Associate Dean of Student Services and Director of Counseling at DelVal. Proceeds from A-Day 1991 were dedicated to this endowed fund established to financially assist student leaders of A-Day. This competitive scholarship is awarded each year to qualified A-Day student leaders.
