Financial Aid Department As a reminder, if you have scheduled classes after 01-10-21 you need to complete the 2021/2022 FAFSA. Students need to log on to the FAFSA www.fafsa.edu.gov to sign in and complete the 2021-2022 FAFSA (free application for Federal Student Aid. The Everglades University school code that you need to enter is 031085. Please also use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to transfer your IRS tax information to your FAFSA on the web. You will do this by clicking on “Link to IRS” Helpful Tips: Make sure that you enter your name on the FAFSA exactly as it appears on your social security card. On Renewal FAFSA’s make sure you are reviewing your demographic information for changes that have occurred since your last FAFSA was submitted. (Example: marital status, college grade level, changes to house hold size, and number in college. December 2021
December 2021 Schedule: Financial Wellness Presentations—Budgeting, Credit, Savings, Student Loan & Repayment) for graduating students Budget Basics (Reducing Financial Stress) “Reducing Financial Stress, A Budgeting Review”: Discusses the importance of budgeting as a student, ba- sics of creating and maintaining a budget driven by monetary behavior, and expense reduction. We address strategies on handling financial issues resulting from COVID-19; budgeting with less due to a reduction or loss of income, prioritizing bills and expenses and survival with limited income or savings. Wednesday 12/1 @ 1:30pm, 3:30pm and 5pm Tuesday 12/7 @ 3:00pm Thursday 12/16 @ 3pm and 5pm Savings Basics (Your Money, Your Future) Reviews the importance of saving, goals to save for, how interest works, and several suggestions, tips, and examples of how other students have started the process of finding savings, reducing expenses, and prepar- ing for their financial future. Tuesday 12/14 @ 1:30pm, 3:30pm and 5pm EST Improving Financial Success with Credit Covers the basics of credit (types of credit and debt), credit reports, and credit scores. Discusses improving credit, building or rebuilding credit, and the importance and impact of credit scoring. Includes information about the credit industry and what they are doing to assist those who have been impacted by COVID-19, and how to manage credit during the pandemic. Thursday 12/2 @ 2pm and 4pm Wednesday 12/8 @ 3:30pm and 5pm EST Monday 12/13 @ 3:30pm and 5pm Student Loan Repayment Review Covers the process of student loan repayment; resources available to assist borrowers, the payment plans, tools available if unable to make payments, and consequences of delinquency and default.
