Keppel Charity Golf makes its mark
at Mediacorp’s annual charity show

Charity Golf (KCG), which raised
over $1.28 million in October,

In the twinkling of an eye, dear members, 2019 is fast drawing to a close. I hope you have had
a good year. Do join us for the countdown party on Dec 31 as we usher in 2020 – an interesting

anticipated of local comedian Kumar.
Last month saw a number of events take place at the Club: Let’s Dance Party as usual provided
a great gathering opportunity for many dance enthusiasts, while bowling – despite the closure of our
own bowling alley – was still a sport celebrated and supported by members who turned up at the
Annual Bowling Championship and Dinner.
Finally, I would like to say goodbye, as this is my last issue of Keppel Links. Allow me to
introduce the new editor, Ms Joan Yap. Do continue supporting the newsletter and the Club, and
keep your feedback coming in, so we will know how to serve your interests better. Here’s also

Food Column
Healthy tofu stew
150g soft beancurd
1 carrot, peeled and grated
6 dried shitake mushrooms, soaked in hot
water until soft, stems discarded,
caps sliced
100g green peas, fresh or frozen
2 tbsps rice wine
1 tsp salt (or to taste)
2 spring onions, finely chopped
Method:
1. In a saucepan, bring the herb and water to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 45
minutes. Remove from the heat and strain. Reserve the
clear broth and discard the dregs.
2. Cut the chicken breast into cubes, place in a bowl and
mix well with the soy sauce. Set aside.
3. Heat the sesame oil in a wok over high heat. Stir-fry the
chicken until it changes colour, three to four minutes.
Add the beancurd and using a spatula, break it into
small bits. Stir-fry the mixture for two more minutes,
then stir in the carrot, mushroom and green peas, and
season with the wine and salt. Pour in the herbal broth,
reduce the heat to medium and simmer covered for
20 to 30 minutes. Remove from the heat and serve
