Crestview Local School District June 2021 Message from the Superintendent Dear Rebel Nation: The 2020-21 school year is now complete! Our wonderful class of 2021 graduated on May 23, 2021 at Rebel Stadium. It was a picture perfect afternoon with sunshine, a nice breeze, our band and choir, and yes all of us together. I am confident that this class will succeed because they have adjusted continually as we worked together during a pandemic. At graduation, we highlighted their grit and resilience mixed with kindness and empathy. We are blessed! In spite of some difficult odds, this class stuck together, used a sense of humor, and pulled themselves up when every given day we had a new experience. They bounced back, and persevered to complete the requirements to graduate. In the meantime, they won scholarships, excelled on the ACT, performed musicals and won championships. In addition, they achieved all that and still helped those less fortunate and pulled up those who were down. They are leaders who not only lead with grit and resilience, but with compassion and empathy. They used their values instilled by their families and community to defy odds. This is the reason for my optimism. They are problem based learners who will adjust no matter the circumstances as they tackle their future. They beat a pandemic and together here we are. Thank you for your leadership. I will truly miss you, but you have made me better and stronger. (Mr. M) As you view the picture above, you see great joy. There is joy in learning and this summer, we have several learning camps. These camps will focus on academics, but also social interaction and summer fun. New incoming kindergarten students will begin their 4 week camp on July 19, 2021. Here is the Registration for kindergarten Success by Six. We currently have over 100 students enrolled for this summer. We look forward to seeing everyone back in the fall on August 23, 2021. Have a great and Safe Summer of 21….The CHOICE is YOURS! Sincerely, Matthew T. Manley, Superintendent
