The Adelaide University Hockey Club (AUHC) remains committed to the health and safety of its members, guests & volunteers as its number one priority. We are perpetually reviewing our operating policies and procedures due to concern in the community and Government mandated changes regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus). It should be noted that the Club in consultation with Hockey SA and relevant authorities are removing some restrictions on the use of our facility. Of course, members should exhibit a heightened awareness of personal hygiene and social distancing as has been encouraged by state and federal health departments. As of Monday 17th August 2020, the Committee and Management have implemented the following to allow players to return to training and competition in line with government regulations. COVIDSafe App We encourage the AUHC Community to download the COVIDSafe App as this speeds up the contact process for people exposed to COVID-19, helping to support you, your family and friends. COVID 19 Symptoms COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate symptoms. Common symptoms include: Fever. Tiredness. Dry Cough. Some people may experience: Aches and Pains. Nasal Congestion. Runny Nose. Sore Throat. Diarrhea. On average it takes 5–6 days from when someone is infected with the virus for symptoms to show, however it can take up to 14 days. If you have or have been in contact with someone who has the above symptoms within the last 14 days, you are asked not to attend the club for your training session or game.
Online Covid Safe Plan AUHC has completed a COVID-Safe Plan which highlights our maximum capacity of the West Beach Hockey Centre facility. This is available on our website – https://www.auhc.asn.au/news/covid-safe-plan-marshal-training/. Covid Safety Coordinator AUHC has appointed a Covid Safety Coordinator as the main point of contact for our members, Hockey SA, AU Sport, SA Health and SA Police should it be required. Mark Ucinek is the Covid Safety Coordinator for AUHC. Infection Control Training Our Covid Safety coordinator (Mark Ucinek) along with our executive committee (Jemina Deane and Mike Johnston) have undertaken the online SA Health Online Infection Control Training. COVID Marshal Current Public Activity Directions (7) sees the introduction of a COVID Marshal commencing 21 August 2020, a COVID Marshal is a person who must supervise prescribed operations. A COVID Marshal must: Be 18 years of age or more Complete the required training, keep records of the training to provide to an authorised officer on request Wear provided clothing to identify as a COVID Marshal A COVID Marshal is required to: Promote and take practical steps to ensure infection control practices (e.g. frequent handwashing) are followed by people involved in the operations (patrons, employees and contractors) Promote and take practical steps to ensure people participating in the operations are complying with density requirements, physical distancing principle Must ensure that our COVID Safe Plan in relation to the prevention of coronavirus is effectively implemented and monitored Ensure the environment is appropriately established and there is sufficient seating, hand washing facilities and cleaning regime Be present supervising prescribed operations at all times A COVID Marshal is required for the following prescribed operations at the West Beach Hockey Centre: The onsite purchase and consumption of food or beverages (indoor and outdoor) Any training or games that are scheduled at the facility.
If more than 200 people are expected to be present at a prescribed operation a COVID Marshal who is supervising must have no other duties. A COVID Marshal will be supplied by AUHC in the following instances: All AUHC trainings – the role of Covid Marshal will be performed by a member of the committee or a coach All games – the role of Covid Marshal will be performed by a volunteer behind the bar / canteen (where possible) or a designated AUHC member who has completed the required training A COVID Marshal will be supplied by an external user in the following instances: Other clubs that are using our facility for trainings where the bar / canteen is not open Schools that are hiring our facility for trainings or games where the bar / canteen is not open External users at the West Beach Playing Fields, ie. Soccer clubs Venue Capacity Entry to the West Beach Hockey Centre is restricted to: 40 in the clubrooms 600 surrounding the playing field Entrance priority is given to individuals involved in playing or officiating. Social Distancing & Hygiene Social distancing measures must remain in place, with the only exception being during fixtured matches 1 person per 2sqm & 1.5 metres between each person Follow good hygiene procedures at all times Training Players must not enter the pitch for training until previous players have vacated the area Sharing of equipment is not permitted Including but not limited to Hockey sticks, training equipment, hockey balls, masks etc Coaches to wipe down equipment with sanitiser at the end of the training session or match Players to bring light and dark tops – if bibs are used, these are not to be shared and to be washed after every training session Players are asked to leave the premises upon completion of their session. No physical contact with other players. (ie. High fives, handshakes, hugs etc) Players should arrive ready to train with training clothes on.
Competition Match times for the 2020 Senior season have been adjusted to allow AUHC cleaning time and the ability to fully vacate match areas between games Sharing of equipment is not permitted Players must not enter the pitch for matches until previous players have vacated the area Personal hygiene Store your mouthguard appropriately, do not share drink bottles, clothing, towels etc Bring a full water bottle to training and matches, shared water fountains are currently discouraged Use hand sanitiser when entering the facility and as required during training and matches Facility cleaning Regular facility cleaning practices should remain in place Cleaning of high-touch areas should increase in line with usage, ie. tech bench, handrails, door handles, player benches, spectator seating etc Spectators Social distancing, venue capacity numbers and hygiene practices must be observed, including any guidelines that may be specific to your club or training or match venue. Reporting If any member tests positive for COVID-19, this should immediately be reported to our Covid Safety Coordinator (Mark Ucinek) or President, Jemina Deane who will report to Hockey SA. The information will be provided to SA Health who will advise of actions to be taken. At all times AUHC and its members must work with directives from SA Health, should an outbreak occur we must be ready to act quickly following instructions which may include restriction of activity, quarantine of teams and close contacts for a specified period. Bar & Canteen Canteen and bar operations will continue with good hygiene and social distancing principles to be observed at all times. Please note the following: You must be seated to consume food and/or drinks of any kind (alcohol or non-alcoholic) when inside the clubrooms When outside the clubrooms, while consuming alcoholic beverages, you must be seated at all times. If food is also being consumed at the same time, then the food must also be consumed while seated When outside the clubrooms, while consuming non-alcoholic beverages and/or food, this can be consumed while seated or standing.
The Bar and Canteen will be a “CASHLESS” Operation until further notice. Bar access will be restricted to Authorised Persons Only Clubrooms Access to the clubrooms will be restricted to match days and after training. All equipment MUST remain outside. The number of people within the Clubroom MUST not exceed 40 people (excluding Staff and Volunteers). Hand Sanitising Stations will be set up at the entry and exit point to the clubrooms Toilets and Changerooms Toilets are now open in both changerooms and inside the clubrooms. Change Rooms can now be used as long as social distancing measures are followed. Given the cleaning requirements enforced by Adelaide University Sport, shower access will remain closed. The gym area will remain open as a changeroom area. No gym equipment is to be used. Parking The Main Carpark off Burbridge Road is now open for use. There is no further access to the club from Foreman St.
