Course Description / Academic year 2021-2022 2.- TUTORIALS: For any queries students can contact lecturers by e-mail, phone or visiting their office during the teacher’s tutorial times published on the students’ Virtual Campus. 3. COURSE DESCRIPTION The subject "Human rights and their protection" proposes the study of the main fundamental rights recognized in the Spanish Constitution of 1978, making a tour of their main characteristics, both from the will of the constituent and the successive interpretations made both from a normative perspective as jurisprudential. It includes the analysis of the systems of guarantee and protection of the fundamental rights provided for in the Spanish constitutional system with special emphasis on the jurisprudential interpretation of the same carried out by the Constitutional Court. Likewise, the protection of these rights will be addressed in the various international instances of which our country is a part. 4. COMPETENCIES 1.- COMPETENCIES Code Basic and General Competencies BS1 That students have demonstrated to possess and understand knowledge in an area of study that starts from the base of general secondary education, and is usually found at a level that, although supported by advanced textbooks, also includes some aspects that imply knowledge coming from the forefront of his field of study BS2 Students should know how to apply their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional manner and should have the skills that are usually demonstrated by compiling and defending arguments and resolving problems within their area of study. BS3 Students should have the capacity to collect and interpret relevant data (normally within their area of study) to give opinions that include reflection on relevant topics of a social, scientific or ethical nature. Course Description / Academic year 2021-2022 Understand the different types of rights and the jurisprudential, normative and institutional guarantees relating to them. Analyze in detail the decisions of the courts of justice with special reference to the jurisprudence of both the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court Solve practical cases taking into account the positions of scientific doctrine and jurisprudence. 5. Seminar Formative activity in the classroom-seminar that encourages cooperative learning among student. The professor leads the study and the (AF2) understanding of the subject. Workshop Formative activity in the classroom-seminar. The professor guides to resolve practical cases of different problematic and of special interest. (AF3) Personal Work Training activity in which the student independently manages their learning through the study of the training materials or the activities indicated by the (AF6) professors. 6. Course Description / Academic year 2021-2022 In order to be eligible for examination by continuous assessment students must attend at least 75% of scheduled class time (attendance sheets will be used). ATTITUDE IN THE CLASSROOM 1.- REGULATIONS Any irregular act of academic integrity (no reference to cited sources, plagiarism of work or inappropriate use of prohibited information during examinations) or signing the attendance sheet for fellow students not present in class will result in the student not being eligible for continuous assessment and possibly being penalized according to the University regulations. 10.
