About Us Since 2011, we have been helping people overcome their barriers to enable them to move forwards in life. We offer a range of accredited courses and fun workshops which give you skills to enter employment, to progress in your current career or to feel happier and more confident in your day-to-day life. Costs: ALL of our courses are fully funded (FREE) to anyone claiming benefits or on low income. If you are NOT in receipt of benefits, you can still take advantage of the reduced (Co-Funded) price, IF you are a UK resident or have been a resident in an EU member state for 3 years and are actively looking for work. How do I book a place? Whether you’re interested in training in one of our centres or online, please call 01803 551 551 to book your place on each course or email info@eatthatfrog.ac.uk for more details. Spaces for face to face training in our centres are limited and are subject to availability on a first come, first served basis! Information in this booklet is correct at time of going to print, but we reserve the right to make changes at short notice, for example due to customer demand or tutor / centre availability or changes due to Covid-19 rules. What is a SWAP? So what is a SWAP? SWAP stands for Sector based Work Academy Programme and is an opportunity to learn new skills and gain experience in a particular industry. If you’re interested in a particular industry or you just simply want to try something new then SWAP could be the path for you! SWAPs we currently offer - • SIA (Security) • HGV • Care • Admin • Construction • Cleaning • Hospitality • Customer Service You must be referred by your work coach to take up this opportunity! 6
Security SWAP This academy will provide you with the opportunity to gain the qualification needed to apply for a SIA licence which is needed to work in the industry. During this 15 day programme you will - • Explore career options and current opportunities in the security sector • Gain three qualifications - - Level 1 certificate in personal development employability - Level 2 award Working as a Door Supervisor needed for SIA licence) - Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work • Have the opportunity to meet with local employers • Learn how to prepare for an interview 7
HGV SWAP This programme will help you start the process to becoming a HGV driver. It will cover all the initial steps involved to apply for a provisional lorry licence including an on site medical assessment and preparation and booking of theory test with local test centre. During this two week programme you will - - Be introduced to the role of HGV driver and the steps involved to get a licence - Explore opportunities available in the sector - Complete an up to date CV - Be refreshed on interview skills - Meet local employers - Complete the DVLA application process for a provisional lorry licence including an on site medical assessment - Prepare for tests with a local test centre: theory multiple choice, hazard perception and case studies - Theory test with a local test centre You must have a valid full driving licence & ID 8
Care SWAP A two week sector based work academy programme offering you the opportunity to explore the sector, skills and opportunities available. During this two week programme you will - • Be introduced to the care sector and different roles available • Explore the qualifications and skills needed to work in the sector • Have the opportunity to meet with local employers • Apply for current vacancies • Learn how to prepare for an interview 9
Admin SWAP A two week sector based work academy programme offering you the opportunity to explore the sector, skills and opportunities available. During this two week programme you will - • Be introduced to administration and business opportunities • Explore the qualifications and skills needed to work in the sector • Look at working practices within business and administration • Have the opportunity to meet with local employers There is also the opportunity to complete an accredited qualification in applications excel and word. 10
Construction SWAP One of our most popular academies, this gives you the tools to work in the construction industry, which has been booming in the South West and beyond. During this two week programme you will - • Gain Level 1 award in Health & Safety in a construction environment • Have the opportunity to gain your CSCS 5 years labourers card as well as access to an app to practice for your test • Explore career options & current opportunities in the sector • Learn how to prepare for an interview • Have the opportunity to meet with local employers • Opportunity to develop skills in bricklaying • All PPE will be provided There is also the opportunity to complete this SWAP virtually 11
Cleaning SWAP A two week sector based work academy programme offering you the opportunity to explore the sector, skills and opportunities available. During this two week programme you will - • Be introduced to the cleaning and industrial services industry and different roles and vacancies available • Look at the importance of health and safety and understand risks and hazards • Understand chemical labelling and personal protective equipment • Apply for current vacancies • Have the opportunity to meet with local employers 12
Hospitality SWAP A two week sector based work academy programme offering you the opportunity to explore the sector, skills and opportunities available. During this two week programme you will - • Be Introduced to the hospitality industry and different roles and vacancies available • Gain customer service skills and be given examples of good and poor customer service • Learn how to handle customer complaints and confidentiality • Apply for current vacancies • Learn how to prepare for an interview • Have the opportunity to meet with local employers NEW one day optional qualification in Developing Barista Skills 13
Customer Service SWAP A two week sector based work academy programme offering you the opportunity to explore the sector, skills and opportunities available. During this two week programme you will - • Explore customer service skills and understand the importance of effective customer service • Develop telephone techniques by using customer service scenarios • Learn how to handle customer complaints and confidentiality • CV writing • Apply for current vacancies • Learn how to prepare for an interview 14
Intro to NHS If you’re looking to gain employment within the NHS, this programme will get you up to speed with finding and applying effectively for local vacancies. During this one week programme you will - • Be Introduced to the NHS and different roles available • Explore the qualification and skills needed to work in different roles • Understand the terms and conditions of employment within the NHS • Apply for current vacancies • Learn how to prepare for an interview 15
Get into Employment This one week programme is ideal for anyone looking for work who may need a confidence boost and a refresher on their job seeking skills. During this programme you will be - • Looking at local job opportunities • Applying for jobs • Updating your CV & Cover Letter 16
Back on Track This programme will help you set priorities and plan your life and your job searching for better results! You’ll work in a small group, in a non-classroom setting, improving your skills and exploring your options for work. Week one: Ice breaking, assertiveness, team work. Group activity - budgeting, shopping, planning, and upcycling! Week two: Work ethics, time keeping, personal presentation, self respect, resilience and the opportunity to book in a haircut. Group activity: Treasure Trail! Week three: All about your personal development plan & progression. Employability skills - CVs, cover letters, interview skills and a final celebration! 17
Introduction to Kickstart A one week programme offering you the opportunity to explore current kickstart opportunities and to give you the confidence, motivation and skills to apply for these opportunities. During this one week programme you will - • Build Confidence and Self-Esteem • Create a CV tailored to a kickstart role • Prepare for a Recruitment Interview You will also have the opportunity to meet local employers who have kickstart opportunities available and have a mock interview with them. There is also the opportunity to complete this programme virtually. 18
Passport to Enterprise If you’re thinking about starting your own business, or monetising a hobby, then this is ideal for you! The support from our experienced tutor and the opportunity to meet online with other local businesses could get you up and running in the right direction! Including - • Making business deals • Business planning • Social Media • Marketing • Finance PLUS - regular ‘business breakfasts’ giving you an opportunity to network with other local people starting their own businesses and hear from helpful guest speakers. 19
Career Choices Lost your job or lost your way? This programme is ideal for anyone who is unemployed, has been made redundant on furlough or impacted from Covid-19. Start your journey to a new career with this two week programme - Week one • Explore your options • Discover your own unique skills and how they could be adapted to different career choices • Get help finding local opportunities for employment Week two • Revamp your CV • Work on job applications • Brush up on your interview skills • Mock interview 20
Springboard This brand new programme is designed to springboard you straight to success! A two week programme jam packed with fun filled activities for you to enjoy and build from. This programme is an ideal stepping stone to look at where you want to go in life while building valuable life skills at the same time. Activities may include - Paddle boarding Kayaking Raft building Splashdown Quaywest and many more! You will also find out more about other courses to progress onto and bring you one step closer to your future! 21
Essential Skills - Maths & English Maths and English at Eat That Frog is not just about sitting in a classroom learning formula - it is so much more than that! We are now offering Entry Level - Level 2 Functional Skills for both English & Maths. These courses are designed to work with you at the level you require, in a fun and interesting way. They will be over 4/5 weeks and are linked to real life examples that people use in every day life. You can even work your way all the way up to a full level 2 qualification that has the same value as a Pass in GCSE! 22
Essential Skills IT In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to feel confused and frustrated by technology. These 2 day courses are designed to help you get up-to-speed with the skills you need. Intro to Computers This 2 day course is designed for the absolute beginner, introducing you to the safe use of computer equipment and teaching you some terms and actions. Intro to Internet & Email This course will help you learn how to navigate the internet, locate information, and complete on-line forms in a secure manner. You’ll also find out how to send and receive emails safely and effectively, and to attach files to your messages. Intro to Word This 2 day course will help you create text documents such as letters and reports using text and images. You’ll discover simple tools to help format your documents attractively and to check them for accuracy. Intro to Spreadsheets This 2 day session will get you started on the basics, learning how to enter and edit numbers accurately, use formula and tool settings to summarise your data. You’ll be shown how to create simple charts and graphs and how to select the right page layout to present your info. Further Internet / Email On this course you’ll learn how to use settings on your internet browser to keep you save and save you time! You’ll also identify opportunities to communicate information online, ways to spot spam emails and minimise internet security risks. Word Level 1 On this course you’ll also learn more tips to help you use templates, format your work to make it more attractive and combine info from different sources into your finished document. Excel Level 1 Develop your Excel skills by learning more about calculations and functions, with extra tools and techniques to summarise and display your information. 23

Horticulture Have you ever wanted to try your hand at gardening or do you simply want to get back to nature and enjoy the outdoors? Yes? Then this is the perfect programme for you! This programme will be delivered in small groups so you can truly enjoy the tranquillity that comes alongside gardening! During this programme you will learn about: Sowing & growing seeds Identification and control of weeds Preparing soil to plant How to make and use compost identify & grow vegetables and flowers Maintenance of planted areas 25
Cookery, Crafts & Barista Training These courses are a great way to meet the team here at Eat That Frog while creating somefabulous crafts or cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Try your hand at - Macrame Using essential oils Decoupaging and many more! Or if it’s baking you’re interested in - Cookies Chocolate Brownies Bread making and many more! All materials will be provided! A great way to save money while having some valuable ‘me time’. If you want to know how to make the perfect coffee to have with your cake we also offer the chance to gain a qualification in Developing Barista Skills! 26
