INFORMELE ASSESSERING/REFLEKSIE:
Met hierdie aktiwiteit word die leerders bewus gemaak van die skryf van
samestellings. Hulle word bewus gemaak van verbindingsklanke wat gebruik
moet word. Hulle woordeskat word uitgebrei deur die aangeduide samestellings
te leer en hul moet in staat wees om dit te kan spel.

Samestellings

Samestellings is woorde wat uit twee of meer woorddele bestaan.
Hierdie soort woorde moet vas geskryf word. Byvoorbeeld:

     tafel + poot = tafelpoot
     boek + winkel = boekwinkel
     gunsteling + kos = gunstelingkos

Verbindingsklanke

Verbindingsklanke is dele wat gewoonlik tussen twee woorde in 'n
samestelling gevoeg word. Daar is 'n paar van hulle in Afrikaans,
waaronder -e-, -s-, -ns-, -ens- en -er-. Byvoorbeeld:

     studentenommer
     perderuiter
     manshemp
     bruilofsfees
     lewensvreugde
     vertrouensverhouding
     nooiensvan
     kinderkamer

Dis baie belangrik om te onthou dat indien die tweede woord in die
samestelling met 'n s begin, 'n ekstra -s- (verbindingsklank) nie ingevoeg
word nie. Byvoorbeeld:

     dame + s + hoed = dameshoed, maar dame + skoen =
      dameskoen
     seun + s + hemp = seunshemp, maar seun + skool = seunskool
     man + s + drag = mansdrag, maar man + skoene = manskoene

1. Die doel is om hondekos te adverteer en die teikengroep is die mense wat

4. Wat snaaks of vreemd is, is dat diere soos ‘n gesin mense voorgestel word.

   met ‘n voorskoot aan wat kos vir die een kleintjie inskep. Die hond voor
   regs, met die die wit hemp aan, lyk soos die pa.

Advertensie 2:
1. Die groot koppie sop, met vars groente wat daarin val.
2. PRIMA KoppieSop (dit is in ‘n groot lettertipe geskryf)
3. Die bestanddele in die sop is: tamaties, uie, boontjies, wortels, sprietuie,
  preie en pietersielie.
4. Die leerders moet self die antwoorde gee. Maak seker dat hulle die
  advertensies vergelyk (compare). Wat is dieselfde (the same) en
  verskillend (different) in die advertensies.

      The act of fitting the penis into the vagina.

   2. Pregnant:

        Having a baby developing inside a mother’s body.

   3. Embryo:
        The developing baby during its first two months.
   4. Foetus:
        The developing baby during its last seven months.
   5. Umbilical cord:
        The cord that joins the baby to its mother.

Practical activity 1: Investigate how the baby is protected in the uterus.

Page 48.

   1.   The plastic bag filled with water is the uterus.
   2.   The stone represents the baby.
   3.   The string respresents die umbilical cord.
   4.   The stone is cushioned by the water and does not move a lot.
   5.   The baby floats in the liquid inside the womb so it is not affected when
        the mother falls or bumps herself.

1. Volcanoes!!!!!!! They capture the imagination because of their
   greatness and potentially destructive powers. Open up your
   textbook on page 28.
2. We start today’s lesson by looking at the keywords for this unit.
   The keywords for this unit can be found on pages 28 to 30.
   Complete this Google Form to show me that you understand

3. In Unit 2, we are looking at volcanoes. On page 28, there is a
   map showing the fault lines on the earth’s surface as well as
   the places where there are volcanoes. What do you notice?
   Read carefully through the information on page 28 and 29 –
   you will be using the information in a minute.
4. Watch this YouTube video clip by National Geographic on

5. Now that you know more about volcanoes, let’s test that
   knowledge. Answer the questions on this Google Form:

1. As always, our lesson starts with a warm-up exercise. Open
   your textbook to page 88 and do Activity 1 and Activity 3.
2. This term we are taking a closer look at storytelling and how it
   is done. Watch the following video clip about the differences
   between fairy tales, fables and folktales:

3. Open your textbook to page 91. Read the section about
   folktales.
4. Activity 6 starts the folktale The frog and the snake. Here is a
   performance of two actors presenting the story to some

5. Now that you have watched the video clip, read the section
   on page 92 about vocal modulation and expression. Do you
   remember how the actors in the video clip changed their
modulation and expression with each character? Now it’s
   your turn to practice.
6. Do Activity 7 like this:
     a. Using your phone, make a short recording of yourself
         reading the section of the story under the Activity 7
         heading.
     b. You may make an audio recording, or a video clip.
     c. See the rubric on below.
