NOTE FROM Dr. Tyler Smiley What a joy it was to celebrate as a church the baptism of 27 people at our Lake Baptism service! Some of these are brand new to the faith while others have been walking with the Lord for years, but at our Lake Baptism they all publicly declared their faith in Jesus Christ. If you have been thinking about baptism but have never followed the Lord in this important step of Christian obedience, please know that one of our ministers would love to talk with you. Please fill out the Connect card and let us know. We have several retreats coming up in the month of October. Our Gather ministry will be hosting a retreat for young adults. Student Ministry's Mantreat takes place for middle and high school students at the Retreat at Long Mountain. Refuge will be a one night gathering for women later this month. All of these are opportunities to connect with other believers and grow in your faith, and all the information for these events is in this issue of Connect. Connect Pumpkin Fest is back! On the last Wednesday in October, join us for games, corn, candy, food trucks and a hayride. As you and your family enjoy this wonderful event, please consider spending part of the night serving in some capacity. Our hope is that our community will feel welcomed on our campus and get a taste of what Christian fellowship is like at Lakewood. Contents It is an honor to serve in this church.
