His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia His Eminence Metropolitan John of Dubna, Archbishop of Churches of Russian Tradition in Western Europe
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia offers the Cross to Father Porphyrios, Moscow December 2019 ‘The members of the small community dedicated to the Roman Martyr, St Pancras, which formed around Fr Porphyrios, have been joining in the services of both the Devon and Cornwall parishes of the Diocese of Sourozh. Since the lockdown began, celebrations of vespers by Fr Porphyrios and his community have enabled members of the Sourozh parishes to join in worship via Zoom. Those of us under Metropolitan John of Dubna and those of us under Bishop Matthew of Sourozh have begun this blessed co-operation and with the public celebration of services at St Pancras in Exeter this co-operation becomes visible – a public witness to our unity in reconciliation and mutual service. The processes of co-operation will in time crown the remarkable reconciliations of recent years which brought back into the Russian Church under Patriarch Kirill of Moscow both ROCOR and Fr Porphyrios’ diocese, the Archdiocese of Churches of Russian Tradition in Western Europe.”
On Sunday 4th October 2020 representatives of the parishes of St. Elizabeth and Barbara in Devon, St. Cuthbert in Cornwall and the Community of St. Pancras of Rome in Exeter celebrated the first communal service since the Covid lock down began. Strick government guidelines were adhered too at all times. The following photos are a historic record of this wonderful event.
