Healthwatch Sutton have published a report following their NHS Test
                          and Trace survey.

The report captures the thoughts, views and experiences of over 100 local residents on
how the NHS Test & Trace system is working in Sutton.

Key findings

   • 90% of people advised that they knew definitely or to some extent how to organise
       a test.
   • Nearly 80% of respondents stated that they were not confident that the NHS Test
and Trace system will effectively reduce the transmission of COVID-19.
   • 58% of people confirmed they had downloaded the NHS COVID-19 app. The most
common reasons for not downloading the app was concern about the use of my
personal information and use of my location.
   • 14% of people who completed the survey had received a contact notification from
the NHS Test and Trace system.
   • 56 people gave ‘any other feedback’ about NHS Test and Trace. Most expressed a
negative experience or view on the service.

Sutton Information and Advice Hub User Research
Sign up to take part in User Research!

The Council is looking into how we can improve online access for
residents and professionals to details on local services, information and
advice.

They would like to talk to residents about how they are currently looking
for services that are available in the borough. They would also like to discuss a few of the
initial ideas we have on how to make this easier.

You are invited to take part in one of these research sessions. Each session lasts one hour
and takes the form of a video call (Google Meet). In the session, the User Researcher will
talk to you about the subjects outlined above, and another member of Sutton Council's
team may be present to take notes or to observe.

Carers, Vaccinations and PPE - your time is now!

The Government announced that as of Monday 15th February, people in 'priority groups 5
and 6' will now be invited to book their COVID-19 vaccine. Alongside people aged 65+
and people aged 16 - 65 with underlying health conditions, many people may not know
that this priority group also includes unpaid Carers - those who are in receipt of a Carer’s
Allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person whose
welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill.

   • If you know a Carer in receipt of Carers Allowance - OR - supporting someone,
regardless of age, who has an illness or disability and is reliant on their help, please
encourage them to consider getting a vaccine to keep everyone safe.
   • We believe that unpaid Carers aged 16+ are eligible for the vaccine, but please do
       check this with your GP.
   • We are advising Carers to tell their GP that they are a Carer, ask to go on the
Practice 'Carers Register' and state that they would like to have the vaccine. To keep
the phone lines open, we recommend they do this by in writing - by using the
Practice enquiry form on their website or by sending them an email.

If any Carer is having difficulties contacting their GP, or needs support booking in their
COVID-19 vaccination once invited, then please contact us on 020 8296 5611 or email us
at communications@suttoncarerscentre.org. We would be happy to help and have
experience using the system.

Did you know that the Council is supplying PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) free of
charge to Carers who do not live with the people they care for? Please contact us for more
information.

We also recommend that all Carers are registered with us at the Carers Centre so they can
stay up-to-date with information, and have advice, information and support available
should they, or their family need it. Many Carers have been supporting their family and
friends for several months now, without a break. Please do encourage Carers to get in
touch and let us know how they are managing - and they if they are not coping, we will
do our best to help.

Coronavirus
The information on Coronavirus (COVID-19) is changing daily and we are working hard to
ensure we keep organisations up to date with these changes.
We send regular e-bulletins, if you would like to receive a copy please sign up here

The Prime Minister has announced a national lockdown and instructed people to stay at
home to control the virus, protect the NHS and save lives.

Please visit https://www.gov.uk/guidance/national-lockdown-stay-at-home for full details.

You may only leave home to:
   • shop for basic necessities, for you or a vulnerable person
   • work if you cannot reasonably work from home.
   • volunteer - you can also leave home to provide voluntary or charitable services
   • provide care or assistance to someone vulnerable, or to provide respite for a carer
   • exercise with your household (or support bubble) or one other person, this should
be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.
   • meet your support bubble or childcare bubble where necessary.
   • seek medical assistance or avoid injury, illness or risk of harm (including domestic
     abuse)
   • attend communal religious worship
   • attend a wedding or equivalent ceremony in exceptional circumstances and only
     for up to 6 people
   • attend funerals - up to a maximum of 30 people. Wakes and other linked ceremonial
events can continue in a group of up to 6 people.
   • to facilitate a house move.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms? Get a test
Sutton has five testing sites for individuals with Covid-19 symptoms.

If you have any of the following symptoms, you and members of your household must self-
isolate immediately and book a free test by visiting nhs.uk/coronavirus or calling 119.

The main symptoms of coronavirus are:

   • A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you
do not need to measure your temperature)
   • A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3
or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be
       worse than usual)
   • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you
cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Most people with coronavirus have at least one of these symptoms.

                                             15
If you don't have Coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms you can still get a
test in Sutton
Members of the public who want a test but don’t have any coronavirus symptoms can
now book a rapid test at Hill House (Bishopsford Road, St.Helier).

The tests give a result within 30 minutes and are designed to identify people who are
asymptomatic (not showing any symptoms), who might unknowingly be carrying and
spreading coronavirus.

You can book an appointment here. You should not book more than two tests a week.

These rapid tests are specifically for Sutton residents who do not have any symptoms. If
you have symptoms you should book a test by visiting nhs.uk/coronavirus or calling 119.

It is important to note that if:

   • as a result of the rapid test you test positive, you must self-isolate and arrange a
second test by calling 119 or via nhs.uk/coronavirus. This test will confirm
conclusively that you have the virus.
   • this result is also confirmed as positive, you will then be asked to provide details of
those you have been in close contact with.

If you test negative, you can continue as before by following all national and regional
guidance.

The tests can only look for the virus at the time you have your test. It is therefore essential
that even if you test negative, you continue to observe the national COVID-19 restrictions.

More information can be found on the government website.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine
The NHS is currently offering the COVID-19 vaccine to people most at risk from
coronavirus. In England, the vaccine is being offered in some hospitals and pharmacies, at
hundreds of local vaccination centres run by GPs and at larger vaccination centres.

An independent group of experts has recommended that the NHS first offers vaccines to
those at highest risk of catching the disease and of suffering serious complications or dying
from COVID-19.

   • people aged 80 and over
   • people who live or work in care homes
   • health and social care workers at high risk

When it is the right time for you to receive your vaccination, you will receive an invitation
to come forward. This may be via the phone, or through a letter either from your GP or the
national booking system.
