#CFLCombine #CampLCF ABOUT THE 2019 CFL COMBINES Canadian Football League (CFL) prospects will vie for an invitation to the CFL Combine presented by New Era starting Monday, March 11 at Commonwealth Stadium’s Fieldhouse in Edmonton. For the seventh consecutive year, the CFL will host a trio of regional combines ahead of the CFL Combine. Following the Western Regional Combine in Edmonton, Montréal will host the Eastern Regional Combine on March 13 at the Scitec Sports Dome in Baie-D’Urfé, and Toronto will host the Ontario Regional Combine on March 21 at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport and Varsity Stadium. The CFL, with input from all teams, will then invite additional players from the regional combines to the national event in Toronto depending on player performance. Last year, 13 players from regional combines were extended an invitation to the CFL Combine, and 12 of those players being selected in the 2018 CFL Draft. The top players eligible for the upcoming 2019 CFL Draft, as ranked collectively by the teams and the league office, are invited to attend the CFL Combine presented by New Era. This year, the CFL Combine presented by New Era will take place from March 22-24 at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport and Varsity Stadium in Toronto, Ontario. The players will undergo medical examinations, performance, strength and speed tests, on-field football drills and team interviews over the three-day combine in front of general managers, coaches and scouts from all teams. Regional Combine Players drafted in the 2018 CFL Draft Last year’s regional combines accumulated an additional 13 invites to the CFL Combine, with 12 players of them selected in the 2018 CFL Draft including: Marco Dubois, a receiver from Laval University (Eastern Regional), was selected in the second round, 13th overall, by the Ottawa REDBLACKS. Eric Mezzalira, a linebacker from McMaster University (Ontario Regional), was selected in the second round, 17th overall, by the Calgary Stampeders. Jordan Beaulieu, a defensive back from Western University (Ontario Regional), was selected in the third round, 24th overall, by the Edmonton Eskimos. Tanner Green, a running back from Concordia University (Western Regional), was selected in the fourth round, 32nd overall, by the Edmonton Eskimos. Arnaud Gendron-Dumouchel, an offensive lineman for University of Montréal (Eastern Regional), was selected in the fourth round, 33rd overall, by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Justin Buren, a receiver from Simon Fraser University (Western Regional), was selected in the fifth round, 37th overall, by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. #CFLCombine #CampLCF 2019 CFL COMBINE MEDIA ACCESS Media Access Notes: Because of multiple arrival times on Friday, all media interviews need to be coordinated through the CFL Communications Department. Media members are not permitted in the rooms for medical testing, measurements, flexibility and body fat percentage on Friday. A light lunch will be served on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday and Sunday, all player interviews will take place following the completion of the prospects’ testing and evaluation drills. Media members covering the events are asked to do so in the designated media areas. A portion of the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport and Varsity Stadium are reserved as a workspace for media covering the event. Only accredited photographers & videographers with CFL bibs are permitted on field. Filming restrictions are in place due to live coverage occurring during the combine.
