CMC GLENWOOD SPRINGS Continuing Education Schedule REGISTRATION Please register as early as possible for the classes you are interested in. Each class has both a minimum and maximum number of students who may enroll. To secure your spot in classes, it’s best to register early, and we ask you to register no later than two business days prior to the start of class to ensure minimum enrollment is met. The student will choose from a selection of terra cotta pots, bird bath saucers, and bird houses for their garden mosaic. The artist will become familiar with cutting techniques, thin set (mortar) cement adhesive and will receive a grouting demonstration. Tools, adhesive and materials will be provided; however, students may bring supplies from home such as beads, shells, buttons, etc. to use along with the provided materials. 20194 Sa 9a-4p 6/1 GW Newman Cost: $75 Refund: 5/30 HANDMADE JOURNALS “Junk journals” are fun and can be anything you want them to be. The book is filled with “ephemera” (pockets, clips, little journals, cards, unique items to write on and store pieces of memories). It’s a blank canvas for your inspirations, creativity, and memories. Save a bit of the party decorations then add to your journal with an explanation, or save the tickets from an awesome concert that reminds you of the event. Write poems, quotes, lists, inspirations, or messages from magazines that inspire you. This is an ongoing fun art and memory project and will be so much fun to look back on. This course introduces practical techniques for decorating cakes, including working with chocolate, fondant, buttercream and lace icing. Please bring an apron, hair covering and non-slip, water-resistant shoes. Material presented in the course is basic patient assessment, basic airway management, rescue breathing, and CPR for infant, child, and adult patients. 20067 F 8a-5:30p 6/14 GW Kroesen In-District: $40 Refund: 6/12 QMAP INSTRUCTION (QUALIFIED MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION PERSONNEL) This class is taught by Nancy Beckwith RN, an approved trainer for Colorado. Successful completion of this class will place your name on the CDPHE list that qualifies you to be employed as a QMAP in Colorado. Your employer will need to provide training specific for their facility. Passing this class allows QMAPs to administer medications in a variety of settings in Colorado. These settings include assisted living facilities, residential care, day care programs, host homes, respite and group homes. A $14 dollar state fee will be collected from students passing this class to register with the state. Day one is an 8-hour mandatory class. Day two is testing only which takes about 2 hours. The course is open to anyone 18 and older and a US citizen as verified at the start of class. The class is in English and high school math knowledge is required. Online study information will be sent out before beginning the class. Learn why distilling is such a beautiful combination of art and science. Bruce Kime is a certified river guide with 2000 miles logged on rivers in Colorado, Utah, and California. He’ll present and discuss aspects of what to expect with high stream flows, the safety equipment you should carry, and “how to” techniques for boating in the coming conditions to minimize risks and increase MAY 21 safety margins. GRANTS 101 with Ed Chusid Ed Chusid has been CMC’s Grant Manager for the past four years. He has served as primary author/ key author and raised more that three million dollars on behalf of CMC and its foundation. He has his finger on the pulse and has been known to contact local non-profits to give them a “heads up” on an available grant that seems like a perfect JULY 24 fit!
