Edito
To create a collection is to challenge, renew, dare. To create a
collection is to bring together designers, talented makers and
exceptional artisans.
It is imagining new shapes, fresh lines. But also, selecting every
material, choosing every colour, giving attention to the finest detail
in order to fuse creativity with savoir-faire. We wanted this new
Spring/Summer 2018 collection to be sensible, true, genuine.
We are delighted to present you some highlights and we invite you

dresses Mah Jong
An uninhibited and audacious designer, Kenzo
Takada, “the most Parisian of Japanese couturiers”,
has created a unique and exceptional collection of
fabrics and ceramics for Roche Bobois.
To ‘dress’ the Mah Jong modular sofa, Takada took
inspiration from ancient kimonos used in the Nô Theatre,
re-interpreting their patterns and colours to create fine
and sophisticated harmonies symbolising the 3 times of
the day: Asa (morning), Hiru (midday), Yoru (evening).

Designed by Kenzo Takada
Vases in earthenware, Sansepolcro (Italy) clay, hand-turned. Enamelling by
double firing: highlights of black enamel on white engobe and then enamel in
Midnight Blue colour. During the fourth firing, application of flower patterns in
glossy red-copper leaves Ø36.5 x H.77cm and Ø40 x H.100cm.
Mah Jong. Modular sofa per elements, L.95 x H.19 x D.95cm. Fabrics designed by Kenzo Takada for Roche
Bobois, Yoru variants of Nô Gaku collection. Modular system which allows limitless options of composition using seat
and back cushions, straights or corners (H.53cm). All elements are padded, quilted and handmade. Adjustable back
