About Club Med Bintan Island

Location
Singapore's closest attraction, Bintan, is the largest of 3,200 islands in the Riau archipelago and the
third largest of 27 provinces in Indonesia. Located just 45 kilometres south-east of Singapore, the
strategic location, excellent facilities, fascinating cultural contrasts and tourist attractions
contribute to its success as an international leading destination for both business and pleasure.
Bintan is easily accessible via a 55-minute ride on a high speed catamaran from Singapore's Tanah
Merah Ferry Terminal.

Club Med Bintan Island, featuring the most beautiful beach of Bintan, is set against a backdrop of
white sandy beaches and lush green palm trees on the warm water’s edge of the South China Sea.

Renovation principles
The month of September 2008, will see Club Med celebrating the 10th anniversary of Club Med
Bintan Island, one of the most popular resorts in Asia. The resort has been fully refurbished
featuring the eco-friendly style Ethnic Chic , and flaunting a fresh and up-market look.

Spearheading Club Med Bintan Island’s interior design as well as other Club Med resorts such as
Club Med Kabira and Sahoro in Japan is French Designer, Ms Delphine Leon. “We stayed away
from the Balinese style and the traditional resort which ties in with the image of Club Med, for this
high fortress, in the pure shapes, natural fibres and yet very modern design.”

Rooms
Rooms have been reconfigured to offer 38 additional Deluxe rooms and a reduction of 43 Superior
rooms. The new room reconfiguration brought the total 311 rooms inventory to 198 Superior rooms,
94 Deluxe rooms and two Suites as well as a Handicap room. Among the Deluxe rooms, 16 of them
are available with balcony. Deluxe rooms have been completely revamped and now boast a chic new
look complete with flat screen 26” TVs and DVD players. Warm colours like oranges, reds where
selected for all the rooms.

Reception
The reception showcases the site consistency in the decoration. The colours chosen mix a variety of
greens and browns which blends with the decor; oversized pots add a modern twist to classics.
The reception desk has been modernized and stands prominently among the rest of the decoration
as it is important for it to be noticed by clients. The colour scheme is deliberately more distinct.

Lounge
For lounge areas, lighter feature where used so as not to block the stunning view, allowing nature to
filters through. Area are also decorated with wooden furniture from Indonesia, presenting modern
design with pure lines.

Bar
The Santai Bar which is located by the pool at Level One has been rearranged for comfort.
The Beach Bar is furnished with contemporary items with soft colours and natural elements to
blend with the surroundings.

Groud floor
Decorated with graphic reflection, furnitures with a metallic structure are used to add vibrance to
this big open space. On this level, the warm colours of oranges and reds, coupled with exotic plants
are used in order to retain the warmth of the Club Med ambience.

The terrace with a seating area and parasols continues from the bar within proximity of the pool and
sea. The bright and shiny red-orange parasols, where chosen to contrast with the mineral façade of
the main building.

Business centre
Club Med Bintan Island frequently holds seminars and incentives, thus an additional lounge has
been created just outside the conference rooms to provide an informal and pleasant atmosphere.

Restaurant
The Waterfall Restaurant ideally set against a romantic backdrop of sandy white beaches and lush
greenery exemplifies consistency and incorporates the same colours schemes of brick and earth
tones, as well as some natural elements like bamboos screens and harmonized furniture. In the
main seating area, depth is ensured with a deep coat of paint on the walls and completed with the
repetition of selected objects - decorated with wooden crafts, Indonesian statues, scenes of the
traditional Indonesian on copper leaf panels. Translucent pendant lights in the high ceiling area of
the restaurant, illusionizes air in the light breeze.

This cosy and friendly restaurant offers thematic international buffets daily for breakfast, lunch and
diner - a great option for those who love a wide selection of cuisines.

The Terrasse, a 120-seater alfresco restaurant has also been refurbished with a brand new look.
Guests can enjoy late breakfast, late lunch and dinners of the freshest grilled seafood and prime cuts
of meats accompanied with endless views of the ocean.

With new dishes to the menu, professionally prepared up by Chef Ravindra Balhoo, one of Club
Med’s top chefs, Waterfall Restaurant and The Terrasse Restaurant promise gourmet lovers some
of the finest and freshest food and sensorial culinary experience of Asian fusion and international
dishes on Bintan Island.

Club Med All-Inclusive Holiday
With the Club Med concept, guests have the freedom of doing almost everything on their holiday.
Exciting sports and recreational facilities are available for guests who enjoy active sports such as
archery, yoga, windsurfing and snorkelling. Club Med also offers swimming and fitness facilities and
its very own private white sand beach to relax.

Golf enthusiasts have the luxury of playing at the Ria Bintan Golf Club, located just next to Club

Club! Pyjama Club is an optional evening childcare service for children aged between four months

Club Med Bintan Island also caters to all other children up to ten years of age, through the following
innovative clubs: Club Med Baby Welcome for children under two years (a service providing
parents with baby supplies such as a baby cot, bottle warmer etc), Petit Club Med for children aged
two to three years and Mini Club Med (newly revamped!) for children aged between four and ten
years old.

Each Club Med is run by qualified and caring Club Med G.Os (Guests Officers), who coordinate and
participate in activities, nature walks, fun play and quiet time for kids to befriend other children of
their own age group while mum and dad enjoy some private time relaxing, playing golf or even
enjoying an aromatherapy massage in the new double treatment room.
